Poets Lodge

We arrived to be welcomed into another world. Autumn was in full swing and Daylesford looked amazing in tones of red and yellow. Angelique and Richard have created an atmosphere at Poets Lodge that makes you forget the outside world. Enter to the crackle of the open fire and whole walls filled with beautiful books. Unique art and objects adorn the stylish rooms. On my birthday evening we were invited to come to the lounge at 6 pm and what we found was a magical room filled with hundreds of candles, and champagne on ice by the fire. We had a stunning 3 course meal ... superbly cooked and served by our hosts. Truly better than any restaurant... we read poetry and swapped stories as in times gone by. Truly a magical and unique experience where we felt like royalty !!Can’t wait to return sometime soon.

We stayed at Poet’s Lodge for a weekend in March 2021 and it was truly the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived we were enchanted. The whole place is gorgeous! All throughout the house you have a wonderful mix of old and new. This place just has charm in every room and the quality and dedication to style and aesthetic is obvious. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with sumptuous linens and pillows and each of the beds themselves are very comfortable. The bathrooms with their modern double shower heads and deep, long, (deliciously indulgent) claw footed baths are such a treat and complement the more rustic touches from the vintage decorations. My favourite area was definitely the lounge room with the fireplace and 4,500 book strong library. The main dining table is positioned in front of this magnificent wall and looks like something out of a Home Beautiful magazine, the whole place does really! The couches are extremely comfortable and seated all four of us easily with room for more people. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want and need and is a great space for cooking as well as being visually gorgeous too of course. The location is excellent too and if you do stay I would recommend planning to leave enough time to fully enjoy being inside the house because it’s so lovely we didn’t want to leave to explore Daylesford! I simply can’t recommend Poets Lodge any higher, I’m only reluctant to post this review simply because I don’t want it to be totally booked up all the time! We had the most fantastic time and can’t wait to stay again!

We have just returned from a weekend stay inThe Garden Loft at Poet's Lodge which was gifted to us from a friend. And what a gift it was!!! From the minute we walked in we knew we were in for a treat. The Garden Loft is cosy and comfortable and we felt at home immediately. All the styling is very considered and welcoming. The stocked bookshelves and beautiful fireplace in the living area creates an atmosphere that almost makes you not want to go out all. The comfortable bed and pillows promise a great night sleep. And the claw foot bath in the bedroom is an irresistible luxury and the perfect place to wind down before heading to dinner. All of this is literally a few minutes walk from the main street and all of it's cafes,galleries, gift shops and bars and restaurants. We were lucky to meet Angeline at the end of our stay and it felt like catching up with an old friend. She is delightful and a fantastic communicator and can recommend all the good spots to go and eat and drink while in town. Already planning our next visit. Highly recommend for a relaxing, romantic and rejuvenating get away.

Poets Lodge is the perfect place to relax and re connect with family and friends. The Main house is beautifully appointed with everything you could need for your stay. As soon as you drop into the comfy couches in front of the fire you feel at home. Angeline is a wonderful host and happy to take the time to tell you all about the history of the house. Absolutely stunning!

Poet's Lodge hosted our wedding last December and it was amazing experience. My wife is from Ireland, and due to the pandemic her family weren't able to come over, so we were looking for a venue that could cater for around 15 people. Poet's Lodge not only comfortably housed our guests, but in terms of a wedding venue it could've easily catered for 3 or 4 times that many people. Angeline was so easy to deal with, every part of the day from decorations to dinner was organised by her, making it a perfect venue choice for those like my wife and I who didn't want to micro manage every aspect of the day.The rooms are nothing short of incredible, the courtyard and front yard were idyllic spots for a few drinks and you're a stones throw from the town centre of beautiful Daylesford. We will definitely be back to Poet's Lodge celebrate our anniversary!!

What an amazing experience at poets lodge! We stayed for my birthday two nights in the garden loft, it was such an inspiring beautiful place to stay every detail was thought of. The loft itself was in a perfect location, just hidden at the back of the property so it was very quiet and peaceful perfect to stay in the colder months as we enjoyed the wood burning fireplace as well. Also walking distance to all of the great restaurants and cafes. The host Angeline is so lovely, she left us a cheese platter which we enjoyed when we arrived with bubbles we brought. The Poet's Lodge was a perfect writing getaway. The lodge itself is so quaint and cosy & the gardens in the courtyard are divine. Angeline was also an amazing host, ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible. The cheese platter on arrival was such a beautiful touch. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful abode.

We got married at Poets Lodge in December. I cannot fault anything to do with our day. Angeline and Richard were the most wonderful hosts. They organised everything so perfectly.Our whole family stayed at the accommodation and it was so beautifully laid out it's hard to describe.I would highly recommend Poets Lodge to anyone wishing to stay in the area.Thank you Angeline and Richard for making our day.

We had a beautiful stay at Poet's Lodge. We loved the rustic and elegant décor, it was very homely. Angeline and Richard are both such fabulous hosts and incredibly welcoming. We can't wait to return, and we highly recommend staying here if you're in Daylesford.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Loft at Poets Lodge!The space was beautiful, tranquil and private, with lots of special touches including a lovely cheese board on arrival.The location was excellent, walking distance to the centre of town.
