Absolutely monsters. I was told I would be in a low risk safe environment but was verbally and physically abused by staff. No one should be treated like dogs or told your never gonna matter especially in a mental health safe environment

I was totally disgusted!!I took my daughter therewho has over the years has sufferedmental health issuesMarch 22 -waited over 2 hrs to be seenOnly for the psychiatric doc -ladyseeing my daughter & spoke to her Rudely!!Also she said to my daughter she shouldn’t be so upset after a relationship breakdown of only 8 mthsShe’d get it, if it was after 5yrs !You do NOT say those things to anunstable person to begin with !No EMPATHY what so ever !I Also witnessed how another worker -manSpoke to a young guySaying to him to sit down -rudelySaying That He was being annoying!!Again no empathyI could see his distressI so get working in mental health is stressfulBut if you do NOT have any Empathy for another human being -why work in that fieldI Would never allow my daughter to STAY thereWhen one is so vulnerable -who knows what could happenWhen she was left aloneAlso i have heard MANY Other people’s experiences! On their treatment whilst thereThe mental health system NEEDS an overhaul!

Had to call 000 and was taken there, the cops and paramedics that came to me were extremely supportive and wonderful staying with me for and taking me into reception. The nurse who was in the reception with me was so nice monitoring us in the room. But despite needing to be admitted, they lacked space and slept out in reception and was spoken to twice by different people, it felt like an interrogation instead of assistance and despite the constant flags showing I needed to be here they said I could stay a bit longer or they could call me a cab to let me go home a couple hours after paramedics brought me here saying I needed to be under section 20 (not allowed to leave unless deemed okay by a psychologist).. if the people who spoke to me were, the dont know how to read signs clearly showing I NEEDED to be admitted and tried to send me home by myself right after the spoke to me at 4-5am in the morning...

Last time I was there was a few years back, for some people it may help them get the help they need but for others it may not be.Personally it's been nothing but a traumatic and horrible experience which only added to my troubles. Some doctors and nurses are nice but the majority treat you very badly and if you try and speak out you get silenced.Update* They are absolutely useless don't even bother if you can they didn't even want to help me with my issues.

the most degrading experience of my life.Teased / insulted multiple times over 5 days by the overweight male security guard with grey hair, unfortunately I do not recall his name. Mid 50s to 60s age.this place is hell and will only contribute further to the suicide rate. Many of the mental health nurses / security staff are pure evil. The psychiatrists I saw were ok but you see them for such a minimal amount of time once every few days, they need to be there 24/7 to witness the sadistic and inhumane way patients are treated by some of the mental health nurses / security staff. This was in early December 2022 in the HDU.This place needs 24/7 CCTV visible to patients familes to protect them from the staff. The grey haired overweight security guard needs to be kept away from vulnerable people as he is addicted to the power imbalance. The patients he abuses know where he works and I fear someone will retaliate when they can see him on equal terms.

This place is hell on earth, so i have nothing but respect for the people who CHOOSE to work there to HELP people. It may be hellish, but the alternative is suicide. Thank you to all of the staff for helping me to get back on my feet mentally. All the staff here were so compassionate. I think that the system could be better, no doubt, but respect goes both ways... remember that next time you go to hospital instead of abusing the staff for not making all your problems go away you should thank the nurses in particular for their empathy and kindness. They are under so much pressure and work in a highly stressful environment, sometimes even dangerous. Thank you again.Liv.

I would give 1 star except for my psychiatrist Dr Chris Ma. He is truly wonderful. The majority of the nursing staff are terrible and should think of this is the right place for them to work. Those aside, outstanding service and care is shown by nurses, David, Tim, Kieran and long timer Julie. Julie is in her element and does not treat you differently. There is better care on the outside.

Lovely therapist, I wish I could remember his name. However one of the nurses who saw me in a crisis said she would talk with me and then happily remove the mental health act so I could leave"

If you live with a mental illness of any capacity, do not attend this unit with hopes of receiving care especially if you’re in distress. The male psychiatrist is incredibly ignorant and gaslights mentally ill people by telling them they don’t suffer with their diagnosis received at a private clinic. He believed my behaviour was alcohol fuelled and on smoking. Neither of which I do. He then explained that I couldn’t have my diagnosis because I’m not sensitive to the perfume I wear. This man is ignorant, bias, uneducated on the advancement of mental illnesses and has no compassion for people that suffer with mental illnesses. This man should not be dealing with Ill patients. I can bet this man has contributed indirectly to the rate of suicides after being subject to him. The public system is so flawed and the people that are meant to be a safe place for a person in crisis, cannot be relied on for help. The entire experience with them was beyond disgusting.

I honestly wish I could give this place a 0 rating if I could,The black girl doesn't care about you, or your problems. She barely acknowledges that you’re a human being with mental health issues, It's so disgusting and not to mention that the waiting time is long (over 2hrs) and after they’re done seeing you, they just send you back to your GP, No progress gets made, her terrible reception staff always just having a mother's meeting and ignoring everyone else and barely doing work.Would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this place to anyone who suffers with mental health.
