If you decide to spend a few days and follow the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, like we did from Fernvale through to Yarraman, then a visit to this bridge is an absolute must see. The bridge is a master piece of engenuity for the day and is one of only a few railway bridges left.

Impressive rail bridge fully restored after years of decay since the Brisbane Valley rail corridor shut early 80's then it was ravaged by the 2011 floods as it crosses Lockyer creek between Patrick estate and Coominya.Remindes me of the bridge in movie Stand by me

Great place to stop and read about the history of the bridge when on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. It’s actually quite a magnificent bridge in its design and structure. We road from Fernvale to Coominya and stopped at the bridge. Beautiful spot to visit and ride. So close to Brisbane yet country feels

fascinating to me looking back on history on the railways but spent money on it to preserve the history of The Railways for generations to come our forefathers It does can you put a tear in the eye up and running that’s history steam off the train passengers including mail foreman The engine driver but I suppose it’s not saying all good Things for last forever

Lockyer Valley Rail Bridge (Clarendon)
Exciting find in the middle of the very scenic Lockyer Valley. Bridge has been well restored and now plays a part in the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Information boards tell of the rail and bridge history in the area. At time of visit the surrounding area was heavily overgrown.
