My wife and I were so cold due to the weather that we wanted soup to warm us up. The wife ordered wan ton that came in a big bowl with about 12 large wan tons and I ordered Laska soup that was very spicy but so good with 5 prawns, fish, and veggies. We watched so many excellent dishes being brought out of the kitchen that we were jealous not to be able to order more. Everyone leaving were thanking the owner on such a good meal. Don't miss your opportunity for an excellent feed.Randall

It was with some excitement that we headed off to Lucy's this evening after reading many great reviews. How shocked we were when the food was, well frankly, awful. The handmade rice noodle dish with local abalone was possibly the most tasteless thing I have ever eaten. I could have done better with a packet of rice noodles and a chicken stock cube. Barely any abalone and it was steamed, rubbery and without any flavour. I'm not sure what accounts for the discrepancy between our meals and other reviews here, but there was a big gulf. But Mallacoota itself is beautiful and definitely worth the turn!

I know Mallacoota loves this place so I feel bad for downgrading it, but I found my prawn, squid and abalone rice noodle dish to be a bit lacking. Its flavour was rather one note, kind of salty. The abalone was there but not in great quantity. I also expected a wider variety of vegetables. Nevertheless, the homemade dumplings were fresh and the homemade spring roll was bang on.

Your only options in Mallacoota at the moment are pretty much the pub and Lucy’s. do yourself a favour and pop over to Lucy’s. We got a bbq pork dish and a pork noodle which were both really good. The stand out for me though was the bbq pork buns which were massive and so so good! I would go back in a heartbeat for those buns alone. There is a large selection of beers and the place also does takeaway. Just be aware that they do get hammered with orders so it may take longer that usual. Don’t whinge about it, everywhere in Aus has staff shortages at the moment.

Underwhelmed! Went for lunch, restaurant was quiet so we received our food quickly. Spring roll was very good, dumplings were nice enough. Hubby ordered the rice noodles with abalone and said it was bland with not much taste. I ordered chicken satay with veggies. It was spicy, which I don’t mind but had no satay taste and the chicken was questionable as to whether it was undercooked. I ended up eating the veggies and left most of the chicken as didn’t trust I wouldn’t get sick.Unfortunately we wouldn’t return.

House made spring rolls and dumplings entrees delicious. A fantastic menu to choose from. We tried hot and spicy beef strips, scallops and vegies in garlic sauce, special fried rice. Generous amount of scallops in that dish. All dishes exceptional. Very reasonably priced. No hesitation in recommending this restaurant, and will make sure we return on our next visit to Mallacoota.

Mallacoota Foreshore holiday park is busy on the long weekend, so is Lucy’s on Sunday 13/3 as they do not operate on Mondays. They have been well known for their dine in meals. However, I was shocked to see the younger chef tarnishing the restaurant reputation by bulk cooking the special fried rice- ending up rice not stored properly, leaving big white lumps. Only a few strands of vegetables, no eggs or meat in sight. Pathetic ! He has become a ruthless operator in a busy situation ! It is time to have another restaurant to provide healthy competition for quality and service! Today’s experience was 1/10 for me!

Lucy's food is amazing, I could and do eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beautiful quality, tasty dishes consistently good even though most times they are flat out busy. The chef's in the open kitchen are calm and methodical in the food they produce and Lucy is always busy but never flustered. 20 out of 10.

What a shock - after so many rave reviews to visit this Cafe! On the verandah there is birdshit on every chair and table. There were piles of it in each corner beneath mud nests, with a piece of cardboard put there to catch it, so they obviously know about it. Surely a health inspector would close this place down.?

Sensational food, an absolute must try if you come to Mallacoota. The dumplings are must try. The only thing letting them down is the service. Of the 8 dishes we ordered, we had to remind them about 3 of them which were some how forgotten
