Tom Cat Hill Caravan Park

Great place to stay. Des is a great guy very friendly and helpful. The views from the the van pitches are amazing with beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The toilet and shower block is one of the best we have used. Will definitely stay there again when I am back up that way.

A wonderful and unique caravan park to stay and experience all that Coober Pedy has to offer. Great elevated views of the Breakaways, sunsets enjoyed around a firepit with fellow travellers. Host Des is generously helpful. Water and power provided. Recommend this caravan park as a lasting experience.

the comp site is very beautiful, it has extraordinary view of sunrise and sunset. the price is very reasonable that we pay 60 for 6 people. Crag gave us a very interesting introduction of opal

Our family had one night at Tom Cat Hill and it was excellent. We were in a camper and our twins in a swag. Des is an awesome host and the bathrooms were super clean. Our kids spent ages taking copious sunset shots. I'm so glad we found this fabulous spot.

What an amazing place. We stopped here on our way back from Alice springs for two nights and it was one of our best camping spots for the whole trip.Greeted by Des who is one of the nicest and most accommodating people we met, he proceeded to tell us we had power, water, amazing showers and toilets and firewood. The views were absolutely amazing both morning and night and the price was spot on.Thanks again Des, we will definitely be back on our next trip, highly recommend

16/5/2023 - Rude caretaker (Des) and ordered us to leave.What a disappointing experience.After explaining our set up upon booking and on arrival, Des paces out our spot and told us where to set up.We set up exactly where agreed and while he watched. After setting up, other campers started arriving, Des approached us and told us we could now not have our vehicle (where we sleep) next to our gazebo (in total width just under 5 metres).He told us us we had to park away from our gazebo so he could fit more people in.We politely tried to explain that we were the same width as everyone else eg caravan with awning.He very rudely told my wife to ‘zip it’ and ‘there’s the gate you can leave’We (and campers next to us) were shocked by the way he spoke to my wife and couldn’t believe the terrible treatment.Our first ever awful host 0 stars from us:(Fortunate enough to find a spot at the friendly Big 4 at 5:30pm

amazing camp ground is all i can say. good facilities and amazing views. if you're a photographer, it's a must go for the sunsets turn the entire valley golden. and at night, the stars are amazing.

What a great find - a small caravan park perched on top of a hill just out of Coober Pedy with views towards The Breakaways. Brilliant sunset and sunrise. Bathroom facilities clean and spacious. Des the owner is very accommodating - even provided firewood for a communal fire with the other campers. Highly recommend.
