Mountain Fish

Mountain Fish is phenomenal. The batter is unique and crispy, very much unlike but far superior to other fish and chip joints. Better than the batter is the fish underneath, it is fresh, delectable, and melts superbly in your mouth. Fish and chips is incomplete with just fish. Thankfully, the chips are excellent, served in generous portions with a perfect amount of salt and great texture, they are a league above your ordinary takeout chips. To summarise, I'd you meet the following criteria;1. You like quality food2. You like reasonable prices3. You find yourself in GlenbrookThen, by all means, try this place. You are doing yourself a disservice otherwise.

I think I am a little obsessed. The fish (just the regular deep fried fillet) was to die for. Fresh fish absolutely makes my day (and vice versa) and this fish was as fresh it comes. The batter is something special too, nothing like your average stuff and the chips are different too - have a home made quality to them - just loved it. Nice simple packaging and like the clean presentation of the shop too. Will be hard to drive past Glenbrook without stopping in here.

The Battered fish was crispy and juicy! The prawns were fresh. The chips were well seasoned!

TLDR worst fish and chips experience I've ever had. Don't waste your time or money.Last night we went to get fish and chips. As a local there are 2 fish and chips in close proximity. Unfortunately this was by far the worse I've ever had across Australia...I'm a chef myself and dont make these comments lightly but let me justify:1. The oil was unclean and old. You could smell and taste it. The food was left with a thick oily film which would coat your mouth like a maccas potato scallop.2. Calamari = rubber. I have never had such rubbery calamari. To be honest it wasn't even rubbery it was rubber. To round this off there was no seasoning and the batter didn't even stay on as it was so poorly done.3. Fish was very thin with a paper thin batter with some parts over cooked.4. Atmosphere - the store is a sauna with no seating. You wouldnt want to eat there as it's so hot!

Amazing fish and chips! One of the biggest and tastiest fish burger I had. The batter they use it's so yummy. The crew was very nice aswell. Will be back!

We got 2 grilled barramundi and one large chips to takeaway. The fish was nice but nothing special, the skin could have done with being a little crispier. The chips were really good. It's pretty expensive for what you get though.Service was good! The shop looks great

It was OK, but for the price, which was quite expensive, I would of expected better. While the fish seemed to be fresh and of reasonable quality it should of been cooked better. The fish was still gluggy in the centre. The chips were fantastic, but overall the meal made me feel a little off.

Great to have a new take-away in Glenbrook. Very clean, fresh, and well presented shop, a friendly owner, and polite staff.Burgers are a good size and a higher quality than the average takeaway shop, had the fish and crumbed chicken and both were nice.Fish was cooked perfect, as with the chips.Don’t miss the house made tartare.

The perfect fish and chip store. The service from the young team was outstanding.The fish was unbelievably delicious. I tried something I'd been wanting to try for a while, that's sashimi Sword fish, .. just wow. So fresh, so butterery, just melted in my mouth, AMAZING experience.Grilled barra was cooked perfectly. And the chips, well you got to try the chips.Don't come here looking for a bargain it's pricey but the quality and flavour exceed the price. So when you look at it like that its actually very good value.
