Arrive early to avoid a wait. For larger groups you can call in advance to book. The food is mostly pretty good but some dishes are very heavy and oily. You order on a paper menu which is entered into their system. Make sure to check that everything you ordered makes it over as some dishes and our rice was missed so we needed to re-order and wait longer.

If you are a big fan of Chinese spicy food. You have come to the right place then. The tasty food is worth the long waiting time for a table. Booking in advance will be a good idea. Each table has got a bottle of hand sanitiser, which prompts good hand hygiene. In a word, it's worth trying.

Taste is good. Extremely fast on delivering the dishes. Not too salty. May fine tuned it while most of the Sichuan cuisine has very strong taste. Spicy and salty favour. This one is more mild. Price is fair with this quality of food. Not the top top scores but 4 stars. Recommended. Fish fillet in spicy oil was good and almost all the tables ordered this dish.

Food is decent and well made. Food came out quite fast but there is a bit of a wait of 15-20 minutes for a table for dinner service.

I enjoy the food here, and it has improved since first reopening in a Belmore St. There was some hiccups at the start of reopening and I was first to say give them time to get settled. The opening hours I think have extended. As an Aussie born here a restaurant that closes and takes no more patrons at 8pm on a weekend is just ridiculous. I am a retired Chef and I would still be serving walk ins at 11pm at night. Ok, the reason for my less stars today is hygiene. I always judge a restaurant by how clean the front windows are. If they have no care or pride in the first impressions that everyone can see how would they be where people can’t see? My photos will show the state of these windows that have been this way for weeks now, absolutely shameful.

Food was great. The reason I give 4stars is because of the ladies stuff. I reckon they need to be trained not supposed to gather around talking loud voice besides the customers, yelling and laughing each other between 100-200m. Too annoying, is like eating in the market.

Recently visited Spicy Joint Burwood, I had a good experience. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed trying out the various dishes on the menu. However, I have to say that the service could have been better. The staff was friendly but lacked efficiency, and the language barrier made communication difficult.I would highly recommend that the restaurant hire staff who can speak English, as it would make the dining experience much smoother for non-native speakers

Famous Chinese restaurant. Many typical traditional Chinese dishes, quite authentic I feel and is a good try if you want something traditional.Environment 4/5Small space but seats are huge. So we decided to come early at 4.30 for dinner because it is always long queue during dinner hour.Service 5/5Their speed is fast, I think less than 10 minutes we gotten our food already.Stir fry potato 5/5One of my favourite Chinese dishes, is a must to order. Sourness and fragrance are spot on.Braised pork 4/5Expecting more meat from this dish. Given lots of vegetables in there instead of the meat. Flavour is nice but I don’t think that’s how the usual braised pork taste like.Mapo tofu 4/51 mark is missing as I was expecting it to be spicier, but in overall is still good. I can finish whole bowl of rice with just this dish.Will I come back again 4/5Yes I will only non-peak hour and they still have many dishes that I want to try.Recommended dish- stir fry potato

After visiting China and trying Spicy Joint, you realise how close they replicate the flavours.A lot of real traditional Food here which is the same that I had when I was over there.Some of the dishes may seem to have a lot of Chillies but you can ask them to make it more mild to your taste.Highly recommend the Spicy Fish Dish!Good overall restaurant that satisfies the cravings.
