What a wonderful Summer surprise to still have water flowing mid January. I don't know if that's normal? The walk is easy going at first using the fire trails, but a steep decent (and ascent back) for the actual falls. We parked at Staples Lookout and used the firetrail entrance across the road to get to the waterfall track. Be especially careful crossing the road coming back, it's a blind corner and cars are flying. We went for a swim at the falls and the water was very refreshing. And you can sit yourself under the falls for a back massage. We took some roast chook rolls for lunch and sat next to the falls and enjoyed the bush sounds. There are no bins there, so just remember to take your rubbish with you!Date of visit: 2021-01-16 from around midday. Temp approx 30°. Total time for the round trip was about 3 hours with the dip and lunch.

Fenced all around due to rock falls, but the waterfall is more impressive than it shows in online photos. The hike down is not too difficult and quite scenic too.Hiked from Wondabyne station, 40% fire trail and 60% worn down singletrack

This is a great not-too-diificult hike to do down to an absolutely beautiful, peaceful spot. There is a bit of chambering down rocks and then climbing back up to do, so those with knee issues or low level of fitness may struggle with it a little. But it's defintely well worth the effort, and next time I will be taking my swimmers and having a dip in the cool clear pool!

Gorgeous falls deep in the park, with a lovely natural swimming area. Pretty steep, uneven hike to get down there and back up, so definitely wear your hiking boots, but it's so worth it. Go in slowly-- the water is COLD!

Worth the effort. And by effort I mean the last part of the track definitely requires coordination and decent shoes. It's only a couple of kms to the bottom but for the last part (and you'll know when you get to it) you'll need to take a steadier pace. It's fairly steep and not much of a path. You may have to park elsewhere for a parking spot, it starts at a firetrail so maybe 2-3 cars can safely park there. There is a lookout (Staples Lookout) about 300m away and also there is a small patch almost opposite where a couple of cars could park.

Kariong Brook Falls is a beautiful natural attraction located in Gosford, New South Wales, Australia. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a serene and peaceful setting for a picnic or a walk. The waterfall is not very high, but the water flow is strong and the sound of the falling water is very soothing. There is also a small swimming hole, which is perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot day.The trails around the waterfall are well-maintained, however, as a person who is overweight, I found the walk a bit tough. It was a bit of a challenge for me to navigate some of the steeper inclines and rocky terrain. I recommend for those who have mobility issues to plan accordingly and bring proper shoes and water bottles. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds and lizards, so be on the lookout for them. The parking is also ample and the facilities clean. The only downside is that the waterfall may dry up during the summer or during drought periods, so it's best to check the water level before planning your visit. Overall, Kariong Brook Falls is a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and scenic spot to relax and enjoy nature. But if you have mobility issues, keep in mind that the walk may be a bit challenging.

Waterfall is spectacular but the hike down and up requires a base level of fitness. Can get slippery and muddy after rain, particularly if heading onward towards the wondabyne station direction
