搖籃山，海拔1545公尺，塔斯馬尼亞第六高山，因其連綿的山脈狀如搖籃而得名。聖克雷爾湖面積約28平方公里，最深處達215公尺，是澳洲最深的湖泊。搖籃山和聖克雷爾湖一起，組成了搖籃山-聖克雷爾湖國家公園。搖籃山位於北部而聖克雷爾湖位於南部，兩處景點雖然同處一個國家公園，但兩地之間無公路直接相通，距離搖籃山最近的城市是Devonport，相距車程大約75公里。聖克雷爾湖可從南部入口進入，而靠近搖籃山的區域需要繞過整個國家公園從北部進入。搖籃山與聖克雷爾湖之間雖無公路相通，但是有一條長達65公里的聖徒步道（Overland Track），搖籃山和聖克雷爾湖分別是起點和終點，走完全程需要6天左右的時間，這條步行道每年都會吸引成百上千的徒步旅行者前來實現夢想，徒步者將登上塔斯馬尼亞的最高峰以及周圍旖旎的山川。搖籃山-聖克雷爾湖國家公園同時也是聯合國教科文組織評選的世界自然文化遺產之一的塔斯馬尼亞荒原的一部分。節錄至百科@2013

If I had to plan next time Tas, I will plan mt cradle for 3-4 nights and there’s so much out there and beautiful views to explore.

Easily one of the most beautiful natural places in Australia. A landscape that changes through the seasons, the beginning of the Overland Track, Australia's premier hiking trail, Cradle Mountain is an essential visit when visiting Tasmania. Located in the states North West, the weather can change suddenly so it pays to be prepared for all seasons. If time is not an issue, and your fitness is good, Marions lookout is worth a climb.
