We chose this restaurant based on the reviews but we were very disappointed with the food. It was without question the worst thai food we have ever eaten. Entree, two mains and rice all totally without flavour and the majority of the mains we left uneaten. Staff tried to hurry us so that too contributed to a disappointing experience. It is not cheap so save your money and try somewhere else. We won't be back.

Food is salty and full of MSG. They only take cash as they don't want to pay tax and rip off hard working Aussies who pay their tax. Why else would a take away not use card? They want fo show a false loss.

Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and it was awful. It had two minute noodles in it (along with usual rice noodles) and the dish tasted like spaghetti bolognaise - which is okay if you order that from an Italian restaurant but I wanted Chicken Pad Thai. I hadn't had takeaway in ages so thought to treat myself..... very sorry I chose Thai Recipes as I literally threw the Chicken Pad Thai in the bin after 3 or 4 mouthfuls.

I do see myself as a true self appointed expert of Thai cuisine as it’s my all time favourite :). Having just moved to Picton I was hesitant to find my new Thai joint. We ordered T/A. The team were friendly, efficient and literally only took 2 mins longer than the expected time so no complaints there. Restaurant was packed, not a spare seat!The Penang and curry puffs were spot on! I loved the Penang actually. The Chicken cashewnut was nice and fresh however was basically the flavour of a stirfry and you had to search hard for a nut so not really a typical cashew nut flavour. Pad Thai was ok, a little too heavy on the fish sauce for my liking. I read another comment about the chicken and I do agree however I think it’s because it’s been parboiled and re cooked. The serving size of dished were generous and worth the $.I’ll be back again, I always like to try a place a few times as you can have different results from chefs on different days.Overall, It’s not bad for Picton.Also one last note, it’s CASH ONLY. eftpos facilities would be great. In this day and age it’s just so much easier and now more hygienic to be cashless.Give Thai Recipes it a go.

Picton's Thai-est restaurant north of Stonequarry Creek. To avoid heartbreak bring cash, for the eftpos does not live here.

Stopped for a quick meal on a long road trip. What an amazing surprise! The food is INCREDIBLE. 6 Stars. Casual place, very good prices.
