Landhaus Wines

Came here with my partner to check out the wines as recommended by a local, as I went to use the toilet the large angry old man behind the bar began abusing me and another lady for using their facilities. Need to say he then abused my partner at the bar. We left and won't be buying wine from here at all. This place was empty when we entered, there's a reason for that, beware.

Loved the place, absolutely LOVED how John told us about different wines! I am not a big fan of wine, but John might have swung me the other way to try and explore different flavours of wine! He told me about how we should go about the experience, and that the most important thing is that we enjoy the wine. He asked us after each wine that we tasted about how we liked it. It was honestly a very personal experience. We walked in 20 mins before the place closed, but John was so welcoming and kept the place open till we finished the tasting. An absolute 10 rating for customer service. It was reasonable - about $10 to sample all their wines. They really know their craft and are so passionate about what they do! A must visit when you go to Hahndorf! Thanks John we'll be seeing you soon!

My partner and I spent an afternoon in Hahndorf and stumbled across Landhaus. We spent an hour or so with John completing a tasting, and to be honest it was one of the highlights of our trip. Informative and generous, the wines were some of the best we had touring the McLaren, Barossa and Coonawarra. Value for money!!!

My sister and I had originally planned to try La Prova , they were shut so we thought we would just try Landhous since we were there.Walked in and the place smelt like a unkempt toilet.My sister then went to use the toilet and I waited for her,The man who was running the place asked if I was doing a tasting and I said I would have to wait for my sister .When she came back we decided we couldn't stand the smell and wanted to leave.As we left the man chased us out to the carpark and yelled at us that we had used him for his toilet .We had fully intended to do a tasting but glad we didn't after such a horrible display of absolute rudeness.Clean up your cellar door make sure it doesn't smell and people may stay .And check your attitude .

Great wines and great place. But what really made out of this a different experience was John. He was outstanding. It wasn’t only his incredibly and deep knowledge about wine, but he has a passion for what he does and he does it with love and fun. Great guy, we really enjoyed the experience and will be back. Landhouse, I hope you take care of John and your staff as much as they take care of you

Great Knowledge and recommendations on wines to suit your palate. Good variety of quality cheeses and some crackers to enjoy with your selected wine✔️ 10/10

Landhaus Wines is the single best wine-tasting experience we've had, having visited wineries across Victoria, South Australia and France.Landhaus have a wide range of wines which are available to be sampled for $5, and they waive this fee if you purchase a bottle.They stood out because of how friendly, warm and knowledgeable their staff were. Our sommelier was very conversational and down-to-earth, and we laughed the whole way through the wine tasting... which is saying something, because we tried an extraordinarily large amount of wines during the session. It's the best $5 we've ever spent!The wines themselves are flavoursome and cover a wide range of types and prices. I can guarantee that no matter what kind of wine you like, Landhaus will have a bottle that's perfect for you (and your palette, and your price point).

My review is not directly for the winery itself but it's staff. I got to try this winery at the Sydney Easter Show on the 2nd last day, I attended for a tasting with my husband and child. We were greeted by a female staff member who's first comment wasn't to me but instead to my husband, Are you sure you want her to be drinking?". This was without asking how old my child was

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Was excited to enjoy some time here trying the wines. Instead I was met by an unwelcoming rude man behind the bar who yelled at one lady to go use the public toilets down the road and then rudely asked me what I was doing while I was looking at the wine list to see what I wanted to try. My partner and I promptly left. I have worked in hospitality and at wineries for many years and I understand how important customer service is. Plenty of other great wineries down this way to try, don’t bother with this one!!
