We took a perfectly healthy goat, we had fought to keep alive in the beginning after saving him.He went to have his horns cut, as they were curling into his head, due to previous vets de- horning failed attempts. I made it extremely clear, that this goat meant the world to my wife & that she would be devastated, if anything should happen to him.This incompetent vet cut the horns out of the goats skull, leaving huge holes and he died, surprise, surprise! The vet did not advise us to fast the goat for 24 hours, as per recommendation for small ruminants, nor was there any discussion about the extremely high death rate with the use of anaesthetics in sheep and goats!We put our full faith in this persons Proffessional opinion and experience,We were wrong, don't repeat our mistake!
