Karwarra Australian Plant Garden and Nursery

Beautiful selection of Australian Native Plants, most very clearly labelled. The gardens are very well maintained by the volunteers, and there is a small nursery selling plants at reasonable prices.

Definitely worth a visit. Well maintained and it holds a broad range of Australian natives in a relatively small area. Due to its age there are many mature plants which is great for seeing their true potential. Always something in flower and worthwhile visiting the garden in different seasons. Plant sales area with fair prices and some interesting varieties. Public toilets nearby in reserve.

You can find many kind of flowers and plants there, which only in Australia but cannot find in other in the world.

Massive variation in Australian plants must see. A little garden hidden near a park and oval when you first arrive in Dandenong. Has a huge range of different Australian trees and plants that i didn't even know existed. They also have a small nursery where you can purchase the plants from if you want to take some home.Highly recommend taking the time to visit and have a look at the different plants Australia has to offer.

I haven't been here for a few years, the display garden is looking stunning. But what I really appreciated was the service. The council employee was not particularly knowledgeable on plants in terms of which area they were indigenous to, and the information wasn't on the website or in the office. but the staff member was so willing to search for the plants it was a pleasure selecting new plants regardless. What makes this council run garden supported by volunteers is it's absolute focus on flowering Australian natives. So if you don't need indigenous to a specific area the Australian plants collectively are stunning all year round.

This is a very nice and relaxing place for those who like Australian native plants. There is also the possibility to buy some young plants for your garden or your balcony for a very affordable price.

Impressive little botanical garden and native plant nursery. It is free to walk through the gardens while they're open, and allows you to see how plants they sell will mature and can be used.

A little tricky to find but turn into the Kalorama Memorial Reserve and you'll see signs to steer you in the right direction around the oval. As soon as you walk in the gate you'll begin to relax and will thereafter find yourself wandering around this garden in a state of wonder and bliss. A great place to get inspiration for your own garden whether large or tiny, with plants for every situation.It is full of interesting plants with helpful plant labels so you can photograph the names of plants you like and then go and source them. Something in flower in all seasons. Inspirational and a credit to Yarra Ranges Council who run this amazing garden. Helpful and friendly staff and volunteers. Check opening times before you visit though.
