Maitland Christian School

Both my kids go to MCS and I can't fault them. The team at MCS are caring and loving. My kids love their teachers. Truly an amazing school.

My grandson and his cousins attend Maitland Christian School and I have been in attendance at the school for Grandparents day. I am very impressed with the school and the dedication of the teachers who give their best to the students. Teaching is such an important vocation and it is clear to me that the outcomes that Maitland Christian School is achieving in terms of academic and positive behaviour modelling comes from the framework of the school and the dedication of all the staff. Well done to all concerned.

While you may think you are doing the right thing sending your kid to this school, do NOT waste your money.Issues:- Medications not issued- Education comes second to faith"- Moved to a public school and they have now implemented structure and support to catch our child up with their education- Bullying is accepted by the teachers and the student being bullied are told its good to build resilienceOverall if you want an anxious uneducated child send them to MCS. If you want a happy child that can spell and read go elsewhere. Anywhere else doesn't matter but anywhere but this school.EDIT!!!In response yes I have ‘dealt’ with your team. As long as the school gets your money they don’t care about fixing the issues. I pulled my child out of MCS this year and how would you even know the name as I never said it and my account is just initials.It’s funny you respond to an honest negative review but won’t respond to good reviews."

My daughter is loving her kindy life at MCS. Very nurturing teachers who know her and nurture her uniqueness, which is extremely important to us.

It was a lovely family event for family's and community. Only negative feedback would be not enough lighting around the school especially the cola and parking was a nightmare especially if you live on the street to school due to people parking over our driveway and we were unable to enter and exit safely. I know this isn't a school problem but community need to be respectful to others as reflects on the school.

Bad school. Most teachers cant even teach basic year 8 subjects. Silly school policies that make no sense. Most teachers are just wannabe cops who couldnt meet the fitness requirements to become a police officer. Borderline misleading advertisements claiming that the school teaches legal studies so good, even though legal studies was not a subject offered to 2022 year 11 students. Terrible culture. 1/10 of a school would not recommend. Also, atleast 90% of the 5 star reviews are from teachers, or the principals children. Having the staff of the school put 5 star reviews to try and hide the genuine criticism is against googles terms of service and is not something that i would expect of a school that claims to have christian values. They literally dont teach the syllabus. In science instead of learning about evolution like the syllabus said to, we just had our teacher state that literally every scientific piece of evidence supporting evolution is wrong and they belittled anyone who even suggest that maybe the thousands of scientists may be a little more knowledgeable than a school teacher who spent 3 years in university.

Maitland Christian School has been a very big blessing to our family. The teachers care about much more than just academics. Each child is important and teachers are truly invested in the future of these children. Academically it is one of the best schools around. A combination of explicit teaching, best practice, intervention programs and small class sizes have turned this school into an example of excellence. NAPLAN results have been outstanding for the past 5 years. Students are exposed to and taught to use the latest technology, but the school goes to great lengths to protect students from inappropriate content and cyber-bullying. Every cent we spend on having our children educated at this school is an investment and money well spent.

Good school for our daughter, with decent teachers and staff. Although the school is excessively expensive considering what they have to offer.Perfect for Christians that don't mind references to God and Christ every two minutes.History is melded into God and Christ lessons, Geography is melded into God and Christ lessons, etc etc.For a devout Atheist I don't mind our daughter learning about religion(s) to make her own metaphysical choices. But to have teachers (or just one) that force a child to pray or fail her class is unacceptable, regardless of how the school administrators try to sugarcoat it.So, I gave 3 stars instead of less (because of that one teacher), and because the school is, after all, a Christian school and the staff are devoted to their faith, doing the best they can for their imaginary God !!

Apologies now for taking my time with this review...I am a parent of four children at this school. My children have been at Maitland Christian School (MCS) for two years, having come from a huge public school previously.For my family, MCS has been great. It offers a great system of learning, beginning with Kindergarten. I've have personally witnessed the teachers in the classrooms and seen the literacy programs at work. It was actually quite amazing to see.Most teachers I've met so far are great. They may not all be funny, entertaining or my children's favourite teacher but they are all dedicated. They care for my children, they don't just KNOW my children.I have one child with some learning difficulties and coming from the public system where he was overlooked and left behind, I watched as his learning improved immensely upon being at MCS. I only wished I had enrolled him from Kindergarten.It is a CHRISTIAN school and they happily make no excuses for being this way. Jesus, God, and all things Bible will be talked about. If this is not your thing, then it may be a little confronting, however despite this, they still teach all the other NORMAL school subjects as well, really well too.All this being said, it is a smaller school and may not offer everything that you might get at a larger school. On a positive note, with less competition, my children always make the sports teams, they get more certificates, and the younger ones often come home with a little award or something from the prize box!For any parent looking for a school, It does not matter what school your children go to, it will never be perfect the whole time. Not every other student is perfect and not every teacher is perfect either. If you are considering this school, you are best to call in there and see for yourself. (The office staff are really lovely.) That way you can make up your own mind.

Very impressed with the evening. The hamburgers, musical entertainment was fantastic a lot of talent by students and teachers and very grateful for the wet weather adjustment. The art on display was of a great quality from all years.
