500 bucks a night for a room in a hostel overrun with screaming kids whose parents ignored them and everyone else in the shared living room. Staff were nice but fairly absent a lot of the time. Everything in kitchen and bathroom felt pretty dirty and communal toilet ran out of toilet paper at 6pm so I went and found an unlocked supplies cupboard myself. I watched people in the kitchen ‘wash’ dishes without detergent, drop dishes on the floor and put them away regardless without rewashing. And this is in a COVID year. A hostel is only as good as the staff and guests and this one has dropped in quality since I stayed years ago for the prices we are paying.

We had private ensuite. Couldn't have been more basic. It was really hot at night. We would have loved a fan to move the air around. The communal areas seem nice

We did stay for the first time in our life (aged 60+) in a hostel. The conditions of every thing were super. A kitchen out of this world. Room and toilet and shower super. Mary loved to sit in front of the fire place in a very comfy lounge. The staff was new, very friendly and helpfull. Did extend an other night. Great experience. This was middle of Oct2019. No season at all. Please keep every in this way when it comes busy !!!!

Excellent living spaces, friendly people, and well organised. The kitchen was well kitted out too. Good place to meet like-minded travellers, and strike up interesting conversations, before exploring Thredbo for mountain biking, skiing or hiking.

We had a wonderful stay at the YHA hostel. Everything was super clean, the kitchen had much equipment. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend it!

My main issues with this hostel is the air conditioning and the bathrooms. For a whole floor of guests there is 1 toilet and 1 shower, this is not good enough. I really needed to use the bathroom at night and it took 1 hour of revisiting the bathroom to finally find the toilet vacant, not good enough. My other issue is the air conditioning. It is set on a timer and it kicks on at 7am and turns off late at night. It is very warm, i don't think it is needed at all. The rooms are quite warm when the air con is on and they supply enough blankets to keep you warm at night. I just returned from Bali where it was 95% humidity and 30c each day and the rooms there were much cooler than down in the snow. I was burning up each time I was in my room and I also had my window wide open. There is no way to shut the air con off in individual rooms, super uncomfortable and I won't be staying here ever again.

Payed nearly $300 to stay on a tiny room, no way to change the aircon, shared one toilet and shower between the whole building and got iced in and had to wait 3 hours to get out. Wish the hotel put some more effort in such as added more car parks or more bathrooms. The worker was nice and the lounge room was comfortable, but definitely overpriced and won’t be coming again.
