Darwin Radiators & Mechanical Service

Terrible customer service and the owner was incredibly rude. My parents had brought in their Toyota Camry for servicing to change their radiator and their fan belt. My parents and the owners wife had agreed upon a set quote of $595 for this service. However, when the Camry was ready to be picked up the owner had tried to charge my parents $750. The additional cost was for the extra parts and labour. The labour cost was already agreed upon in the initial quote and my parents did not request for additional parts. My parents refused to pay this price as they were originally quoted for $595. The owner then became very aggressive and he ordered his employees to remove the parts he installed into the car. It turns out that the owners wife had accidentally misquoted my parents and that was the error within this entire dilemma. Thankfully, his wife did take into account her mistake and apologised on his behalf. Overall, the owner was aggresive, rude, unapologetic and unprofessional.

If you don't want stress don't goOwner is rude, aggressive and not professional.Tell one price in car assessment and took more price when car was ready to pick up. Not communicating with customer while maintaining their car how everything going on.

Fixed our Mitsubishi delica van after 4 mechanics wouldn't give us the time off day and amazing price! Just genuine people doing a great job !

Absolutely terrible. Got told to drop Ute off at 9am. Owner didn’t arrive until 10am. No apology for the waste of my time.Priced and quoted some rotors and pads at an extreme price. Went to Bursons to get quote that were better quality and half the price. Made me order myself after already wasting half the day.Went to pick up and all of a sudden the labour price had doubled.Plenty of good ones out there. Avoid this one.

The WORST MECHANIC in DARWIN. DO NOT GO THERE, even if it's for a basic rego inspection or a green slip. They will break anything in your car and will keep your car for months or years maybe. It's a graveyard of cars that the chief mechanic/owner Nicko couldn't fix. His techical knowledge is limited, he is rude, aggressive and unprofessional. They have several active complaints against them with the Consumer Affairs NT but because it's a voluntary no obligation reconciliation" service so they (Darwin Radiators and Mechanical service) are still operational. Spread the word and save others as well please."

Prompt radiator replacement, friendly service, we would recommend to others. Enabled us to get Subaru back on road quickly.

We took our van into Darwin Radiator for a service, a starter motor problem, and a possible fuel leak. We were told by a previous mechanic that the starter problem was due to a bad earth connection but should be easily fixed. Darwin Radiators had the van for two weeks, before advising we needed a new starter motor. We didn't think this was necessary but agreed. When we collected the van they charged us for a new starter, a new battery and fixed a connection where the fuel was leaking. The bill came to a hefty $1200. Since we have collected the van, the starter problem hasn't been resolved and the van stopped working in the red centre much to our frustration. We had to bump start the van 1,000klm to a mechanic at Kulgera who advised the new starter was visible but the fault is due the solenoid not engaging correctly and getting stuck. Darwin Radiator's had the van for two week's and had plenty of time to test all the starter motor element's. They never called back when they said they would, never explained the problems clearly and overall communication was poor. Our friends also took their van in for a service and a fuel leak, and steering problem's. They advised they had fixed the fuel leak, and fitted a new steering column. The next day whilst driving their van it broke down and they had to get a tow back to Darwin Radiators. They Advised they had moved the fuel pump and not connected it properly and admitted liability, but still proceeded to charge them for the tow which is outrageous. The steering problem isn't resolved and still drags to the right. Since then their van has never worked correctly and often looses power, and makes a terrible noise. We would not recommend Darwin Radiator's as both Van's are still not working correctly and we need to spend more money to correct their error's.

Get quoted one price for a service and another price on collection. Are they fully qualified. Hassles and rip offs. If you don't want the stress DON'T go there.
