The food was awful, the decor very tired looking, it was dark and dingy. It looked like the restaurant has never had an upgrade since it opened. Delivery boxes were left all over the place where clientele could see them. Food that was obviously not meant for a table was left on the side boards for over 30 mins and still hadn’t been removed by the time we left the restaurant. Given the price you pay for the food you would be expecting a far nicer experience. I would avoid this place until they renovate it and make the food more enjoyable to eat.

To their credit, the staff were very kind to accept my partner and me for dine-in dinner, less than an hour before close. Thank you.Fish of the day was good, my partner really enjoyed it.Polenta chips were good but smothered in parmesan cheese so unfortunately it overpowered the chips.Carbonara wasn’t great, the pasta was a bit rubbery and the sauce needed more flavour.Customer service was good, although I was confused and annoyed by the waitress who served our mains and didn’t clear the empty plate on the table from our entree. None of the other waiters walking past cleared it either. The space is tacky and outdated. There’s some great original features but the carpet and lighting need updating. You don’t get the experience that you would expect for the prices they charge.Staff all asked us how our food was, but we didn’t feel comfortable giving an honest answer to their face. If they would like honest feedback it would be best to give customers a QR code they can use to leave anonymous feedback.Overall, good staff but I wouldn’t go back unless I was stuck with limited options.

I have not been here for many years. Food is still excellent and service really good. If you want a goo feed prior to heading to one of the theatres nearby Spaghetti Tree is a good option.

First time visiting. Firstly the service:- was at times a little disjointed with multiple waitpersons asking same questions- little things like not offering ground pepper with mains- forgetting one item.- waiter when we enquired “is the children’s fish battered?”, seem to diligently go to the kitchen to check, returning and advising it is not battered. Only to have it arrived battered (which our little boy will not eat). All of these very forgivable.Secondly, food quality / quantity:We have veal / prawns and a spaghetti dish for adults, fish for little one- veal was well sized and delicious- only negative was luke warm- other mains were delicious and plentiful.Desserts were delightful!Overall - we would return

I think 4.5 is a good call here. On a quiet Sunday night I dropped in for a tea and dessert combo with my wife.Spaghetti Tree has been serving consistent high quality meals for decades and this occasion met expectations.Staff were efficient, super attentive and friendly. The interior is a collection of visual delights - one a bright red phone box!Our desserts were to die for.Highly recommended

Loved the bygone era vibes & decor at this place - conveniently located near Parliament station & near the Melb theatres' scene. Earlier 6pm booking for four of us before adjourning to see Mousetrap at Comedy Theatre Fri late Feb.Staff were courteous & obliging - enquired about our theatre time to ensure food was served early enough for us to enjoy it & leave on time.Place was almost full downstairs but more seating upstairs. Live music added to the yesteryear feel. My penne matriciana was not bad. Others enjoyed their pick. My moscato was good to go with pasta.
