Greenwood Five Dock

Whilst the staff at Greenwood Five Dock were absolutely amazing the sudden closure without any communication or reason to parents is extremely disappointing. The lack of communication and transparency raises significant concern as to their ability to provide a safe environment for children. It appears that the closure was due to unsafe levels of mould in the children’s rooms - Very concerning.

Nice childcare centre. Plenty of space for the kids to run around with an outdoor area down the bottom for the younger kids, and a rooftop outdoor area for the older preschool aged kids. Both our daughters went to this centre and we had a lovely experience here. Plenty of parking for drop offs and pick ups either in their offstreet carpark or on Connecticut Road.

I would rate the recently refurbished Greenwood Five Dock a five star early education centre. Greenwood Five Dock recently went through changes with management which was a bit rocky however the centre kept parents informed and has now grown into a place which continues to provide a caring and safe environment for children. The educators show so much love for the children and take the time to get to know each and every family. There are many extra-curricular activities run through the centre from Yoga, music, French and Mandarin classes which the children enjoy.Management are very responsive to emails and calls. I receive a response the same day or within 24 hours of sending an email.The daily updates which have photos, meals and information on the children’s day are fantastic.A special shout out to the resident chef. The kids love his food and he lets the parents have a sneaky taste from time to time.Keep up the good work!

Greenwood Five Dock has been excellent at meeting all the needs of my child and our family. The educators are so caring and the rooms are large, inviting, and full of learning opportunities. The centre manager is approachable and is easy to communicate with.

Greenwood Five Dock is a beautiful day care facility which provides very high quality care. I feel very comfortable sending my two small children to this centre, and love how my eldest speaks about her teachers as if they are her friends. She adores them!The facilities at this centre are great, the meals provided by the chef are fantastic and the care provided is second to none. I also really appreciate the sense of community fostered by management. Events are regularly held for days such as Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. These provide parents a wonderful opportunity to visit the centre, connect with other parents and see their children interacting.Additionally, the new centre manager is fantastic and has been extremely responsive to my queries.Thank you to all the staff at Greenwood Five Dock for caring for our children as if they were your own!

I placed my baby son here from 7 months of age, at the time I think he was the youngest there. He has been so well looked after, and so obviously loved by all members of staff. I always can log in online from my desk at work at any time, (or via my phone) to see pictures and check up on what he is doing, and they will always call at any sign of concern/illness etc.I really have seen my sons confidence grown so much day by day from the time he joined. I honestly could not recommend this place more, and am only sadly having to move my son as we are moving states.I didn’t want to leave without posting a review. This is a lovely warm environment for young kids and the staff truely do care.

We have been very happy with greenwood. The staff are both incredibly caring and professional, and there is often extra curricular activities like French, yoga, music and mandarin. We also really like the additional opportunities, like dental and speech specialists that are available.The leadership team have been wonderful and I can’t fault the centre. Some great renovations have taken place also, so it’s a lovely environment!

Greenwood Fivedock closed with immediate effect in Sept 22. All families informed at 6pm that the centre would not be open the next day. No explanation provided at the time and 3 months later, there has been a vague mention of repairs. Overall experience at Greenwood Fivedock was disappointing - we often weren’t greeted in the morning and on 5 occasions (over a few months) my child was in a soiled nappy at pick up. Staff varied - some acted as though they’d rather be somewhere else and others clearly cared about the kids. There were no extra curricular activities arranged for the children (yoga/sport/park trips) and the in-house chef quit so all meals were delivered. Our child has attended Greenwood for over a year (we had limited choice but will be leaving shortly) yet we have never been provided with a progress/development report or anything along those lines. The best I could hope for is being told that they “had a good day”. I’m glad we are leaving Greenwood and whilst some of the carers are great, the negatives are overwhelming.

My little one has been at Greenwood Five Dock for almost 2 years now and I am very happy with the carers and centre overall.A recent change in management has seen many elements updated, from on going centre renovations (repainting, updating garden, updating children facilities such as tables, chairs, toys, etc) to updating polices which includes parents feedback on how they can do thing better. Management is great at updating parents with whats going on at the centre.A new chef has come into play, which the food smells great in the morning, and even lets me try the food my little one will be eating for lunch...much better than what I will be eating for lunch. Looking forward to the cookbook they will be sending out to the parents!Lastly, the carers. They are just wonderful. My child is shy, anxious and doesn't want to leave my side but the carers welcome her with open arms and she willingly goes to them. By the time I need to pick her up to take home, she wants to stay a little longer to keep playing. Good carers makes all the difference in the wellbeing of the children, and I thank them dearly for this. It will be a sad day when she will be moving to big school.
