Rustica did not disappoint!!Firstly, very grateful to Jo, who assisted us with our booking and honoured our gift voucher, which was received prior to COVID. After making our booking for lunch, the day & weather were glorious! From our window view we could see the dolphins catching waves & were very fortunate to watch the pods of whales making their annual migration north. The service was exceptional and the food was simply divine. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend Rustica for any occasion. The last time we went to Rustica was to celebrate my 50th birthday and I now realise that was four years too long ago!! Thank you Rustica!

Staff lovely and attentive, atmosphere really cool. Nice low lighting without being too dark and tables nicely spaced so it didn't feel like you were sitting on top of others. Food less impressive (taking price into consideration). Pictured below is our $36 gnocchi main. Embarrassing - I would hate to see what the entree size looked like. Cheap ingredients in this vegetarian dish, adding in a few extra pieces of gnocchi to even semi-fill the plate could have so easily taken this 3 star review to a 4 or 5 star. Felt unnecessarily 'ripped off' which soured the night somewhat. On the plus side, the bottle of Malbec we ordered was ridiculously delicious. Probably won't visit here again over the option of trying something new due to the disappointing serving size of an expensive-ish non-meat main.

Thank you so much to the team at Rustica for such a beautiful Birthday dinner. As always the service, food and atmosphere was exceptional and we were so lucky to be there on a night when the classical guitarist was playing! (Wednesday nights). Can't recommend this venue more, it's a favourite of ours.

Dined here last night. It was our 20th wedding anniversary. Probably the best dining experience I’ve had in a very long time. Amazing food, attentive service (without being a nuisance) great views, perfect atmosphere, incredible value for money all ‘round. Thank you for making our night.

If you're thinking of getting the banquet, FYI, save your stomach for the mains as the star of the show.Staff were super friendly and the decor is simply stunning especially with the backdrop of the ocean and sunset if you time it right.I would highly recommend any of the dishes offered as the mains (slow cooked lamb, baked cauliflower and roast potatoes). The lamb in particular was so flavourful with rich umami notes. Texture-wise, it fell off the bone and yet was still crispy - a culinary masterpiece.The baked cauliflower was on a bed of deliciousness - i have no idea what was in it - but it was good. The yoghurt also paired really nicely with it.The appetiser was warm olive, crisp bread and hummus. I think it was all made in house, delicious but a bit pricey.The entre was arancini balls and scallops, the arancini balls were also pretty good. Nice and crisp. The scallops were a little disappointing. Overcooked and small. Really pretty though.The dessert if churros was a nice way to end the night. The caramel sauce had burnt notes and a hint of brandy which was unexpected and delicious. Must also be made in-house. Chocolate sauce was also good.

A wonderful environment and the food was amazing. We had half shell scallops, flash fried squid salad and wagyu as a main. Cocktails and wine. The steak was spectacular. The only downside was the popcorn panacotta which was not a flavourful as I expected. Overall happy with the service and will be back.

Our first time to this wonderful restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, the decor was really nice and the service was on point. We ordered a couple of starters which very tasty and followed with a slow cooked lamb with vegetables tor two which was absolutely out of this delicious. Each course came out a good intervals - not rushed as some restaurant and not at a snail pace either even though the restaurant was full at the time. All staff had a smile which is a good sign that they enjoy working at the restaurant. Would we come back - for sure and next time bring some friends too.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Rustica. Service was friendly and attentive, cocktails were great, food was amazing. Would definitely return when in Newcastle next. Highly recommend. Thanks to the wait staff who made our night.

We had the banquet at Rustica a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Our only problem was that we couldn't finish all the yummy food! It also took us a little time to find it, up the stairs near the end of King St. Great food, nice view, good value, friendly service - happy to recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Newcastle.
