Alice Beside The Sea

Alice was very welcoming. Lovely, position across the road from the beach and a big park area.The unit was 2 bedroom and very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped too.

So close to Spirit of Tasmania barge. Caravan park nearly across road where my mum's caravan is.Large screen TV. Queen bed, 2 lamps on bed side tables , beautiful glass screen shower in bathroom. Place tiled. 2 seat + 1 seat couchers , Big fridge. My mum came over from cara van park & baked a roast vege meal in her frypan. There is a microwave, stovetop. Car parking out front off street. Beautiful garden. Other people upstairs. We are verry happy here for 3 nights.IGA just down stret.ⁿ15 minutes drive from seeing the penguins arrriving around 8.50pm. A lady helps you. She uses red lights to view penguins.You wil enjoy stay.

Thanks to Alice for a wonderful 3 day stay at Alice Beside the Sea. Glorious location, very comfortable and warm bed, spacious 2 bedroom Unit with allThe amenities you will need. A wellStocked kitchen and loads of little extras.Nothing was too much trouble for Alice and what a wonderful host.Highly recommend.

Awesome spot to base yourself when visiting Tassie

Horrible time here.We were desperate for a place to stay in Devonport on Easter Sunday and this was the only place available.Though we were a group of 9 we had to settle with 2 bedroom apartment available and indeed paid extra for the extra people.We also had to oblige to the compulsory 2 night stay though it was not ideal for us.Upon arrival we found that the bedding and linen provided for extra people was absolutely filthy. The blankets were ridden many hairs and clearly hadn’t been washed,l There were only 2 extra mattresses provided for the 5 extra guests, which were child size and extremely thin. The cushions of the sofa, doona and linen were smelly, and we itched from using them. There were also small cockroaches romancing in the linen and we had to abandon them completely and resort to our warm clothing to spend the night.I messaged the host for replacement linen but the host was unavailable until the next morning, after the tough night was endured..In the morning I gave the host a call and expressed that due to the lack of hygiene and discomfort experienced we have decided to leave. even though we had paid for 2 nights and the extra guests. I spoke calmly and offered the host to decide what refund they would like to issue us.The host refused to refund even the unspent night equally calmly and bid us farewell.Her attitude was ‘too bad too sad.’ Issued an empty apology ‘sorry you went through that’ and she cited our desperation for a place to stay as justification for the sub-standard arrangements provided.IF YOU HAVE CHARGED FOR EXTRA GUESTS, PROVIDE FOR EXTRA GUESTS.Selfish and unflinching host. Disgusting linen. Uncomfortable night.$920 wasted.I will never be returning here.

Not worth the money. Just has a good view of the ocean. No Dishwasher or washing machine. Small cockroaches in the house and a grumpy owner.

Great place to stay close to Spirit of Tasmania terminal and the beach. Quiet and peaceful yet close to everything.
