The Best vintage Bicycle Shop in Melbourne is Mottainai Cycles. They specialise in building and restoring custom bikes and vintage bikes. Their prices are also very reasonable, they can build you a beautiful high quality custom retro bike for only around $800 to 1000! I love this shop.

What a great find! When it comes to bike repair, this is one of the best kept secrets in Melbourne. Super fast service and incredibly down to earth, friendly people.Would recommend to anyone who wants their bike running smoothly without having to wait forever. Totally love their vintage bike collection too!

Did a vintage bike refurb for me. Quality of work generally good. Took a long time but I didn't specify a timeframe so ok.Bad points:-Owner quoted me $900 verbally, (my fault for not insisting on something in writing), then on pickup price jumped to $1060-Work was done which I didn't ask for and wasn't consulted on which bumped up price-Specific instructions regarding restoration of decals were ignored and removed and replaced with rubbish immitations at marked up price without consultation. Didn't know until collection.-Insisted on cash-in-hand only... (!), with no receipt for work. I have wondered ever since if money was declared...-When I asked if I could pay $1000 today and $60 next day (cash limit on my card) the guy was not happy, very reluctantly agreed-There's 5 star reviews on here from employees acting as customers (have reported)

Truly one of Melbourne's best kept cycling secrets! ace servicing, customer service is great and their bikes are all stunning. Looking anything cycling related or feel like checking out some great beards, (found on the chins of the male staff) the team were a great help to me on all questions, and would highly recommend.

Cannot recommend highly enough!Super friendly staff that advised me on what should be serviced/replaced without pressuring me to purchase anything I wasn't interested in. Super affordable work too! Far cheaper that it would have been for me to source parts on my own and perform the repairs. To top it off, they finished the job super quickly, only took them a day which is far quicker than I expected.After being told my bike was too old to fix" and "it would be more affordable to buy a new bike" by other bike shops

These guys are awesome. Had my bike serviced/revamped (old malvern star) and am loving the job they did, she's riding like never before (during my time for sure).
