The tour was fantastic, Juan included everyone and was a great balance of entertaining and educational. Juan was a wonderful guide, and one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Highly recommend for couples, families and small groups. Plus the food made by him and his mum was also wonderful.

I had a great time on my full day tour! Felt like I got to know the area on a different level, knowing the native foods and plants makes me happy! The most welcoming and hospitable tour guides I’ve ever met!

We had a great day with Aaron as our guide. Our kids enjoyed the fruit and damper with sugar bananas. Highly recommend and thank you Aaron. Also nice to meet Howard the Croc from a distance.

Amazing tour! Juan and Damien are extremely knowledgeable about the rainforest and the Aboriginal peoples. From medicinal plants, native foods and history of their ancestors, all is covered. Learning about the treatment of the Aboriginals was eye-opening and heart wrenching. We loved how proud they are of their land and culture. Hearing how they are working to preserve their culture was inspiring. Highly recommend this tour!

Great experience that everyone should do!We have learnt lots about the people who own this land for thousands of years and had fun walking around areas that you wouldn't venture without a guide. Learned how to catch crabs which were cooked in absolute delicious way whilst we were swimming in a secret spot at Mossman gorge (that you wouldnt be able to access otherwise)!Very knowledgeble guides who have grown up in the area.

My wife & I had a great time with Aaron as our guide learning so much about the local culture & seeing so much.Aaron often went out of his way to give us opportunities to see wildlife (got to see a croc chilling in the river) or try some bush tucker (eating green ants tasting like citrus) or bush medicine. It was a big day out but got so much out of it. Highly recommended!

This was such a wonderful day. Aaron is very knowledgable and we left with so many new experiences. We also left with a sadness that much of Aboriginal wisdom is lost and being ignored by our policy makers. We need to look back to move forward into a sustainable future for everyone. We will definitely be back!

I've done Walkabout Cultural Adventures a couple of times now, and each time has been better than the last. Juan, who was our guide both times, is simply amazing. He knows everything about the local flora and fauna, and in just 20 meters from the car park, he's already taught you about five different plants and their uses. But that's just the beginning. Once we get to the mangroves, he shows us how to catch mussels, crabs, and even use a traditional spear to catch fish in the marine shallows. And then, we got to cook it all up in the rainforest. The damper is especially amazing. I don't know how he does it, but it's like nothing I've ever tasted before.Juan's passion for sharing his culture and preserving the environment is evident throughout the tour. His genuine care and altruism shines through as he enthusiastically teaches visitors about the local flora and fauna, and shares his people's customs with reverence. It's clear that he takes pride in his role as an ambassador for his culture.Juan is one of the most knowledgeable humans on the planet when it comes to the local environment, and he's also a fantastic guide. He's patient, funny, and really cares about making sure everyone has a great time. I honestly can't recommend Walkabout Cultural Adventures enough. I'd say it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience but you're going to want to do it every time you visit Cairns. If I could give it six out of five stars, I would.

We thoroughly enjoyed a very interesting day with our guide Aaron. We learned intriguing and interesting previously unknown facts about the aborigine culture and their way of life. Aaron described in detail and demonstrated the traditions and home remedies using plants to cure a variety of ailments. Most proved to provide great relief. His knowledge of the rainforest and local efforts to preserve it were especially impactful. Highly recommend this tour with Aaron and of the fascinating natural wonders of the area.
