Elvie's Studio makes you feel safe and comfortable about your curly hair, they really listen to what your curly haired experience has been like! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a curly/afro hair centred studio

I had a great experience at Elvie's Studios. Ella answered questions about my hair that nobody has been able to answer before. She cut and styled my hair with confidence. I travelled from interstate for my cut,and I love it! I'll be back for sure!

Best experience!I just moved to Australia and I was very worried about finding a good salon to take care of my Afro (4b). I’m beyond relieved that I found Elvie’s: Ella is a such a beautiful person inside and out; her warmth makes you feel welcome by a friend or a sister and the salon is gorgeous! Ella does know about curls, great advises, the products she uses are natural, and she is very gentle with the hair! Basically, a safe place for your hair to be treated by an lovely expert!

Wow, what a beautiful and healing experience to have my natural afro (4b curls) hair treated and cut at Elvies. I have felt excluded from the Aussie hair dressing world all my life as most hair dressers cannot/will not style my type of hair - which influenced my decision to chemically straighten my hair for most of my 20s.Now that I've transitioned back to my natural hair, I'm so relieved to find a hair dresser that I trust. I had a treatment, cut and style and I will be back over and over again. Bonus points that Ella is just so lovely, and the studio is beautiful!

My experience at Elvie's was absolutely incredible. It's not often that you find a hairdresser who knows how to actually work with Type 4 hair without making you feel like your curls are a problem. I had the pleasure of having Ella work on my hair. She was very gentle with my hair (no rough tugging, pulling or brushing) and somehow managed to make my curls pop (which I've never experienced before with my hair)!Ella is amazing and makes everyone feel welcome which is an added plus when you wear a hijab. For any of my curly girl hijabi sisters, Elvies is the place for you!

I've worked with Ella independently on a number of runway shows and projects as well as finally having the chance to have my 4c curls dyed copper, deep conditioned and styled by Claudia and all I can say is wow!!! What a phenomenal group of talented, in tune, highly skilled, and welcoming community of artists at Elvie's! Best salon experience hands down from the top quality skill, products, environment, results. Highly recommend!!!

We can’t say enough good things about Ella. Honestly, the curly and natural hair expert of our dreams. My daughter, who has only had painful and uncomfortable experiences of hair salons so far, left feeling amazing, beautiful and already planning her next visit to Elvies. For me, a mum who has always struggled to manage my 13 year old daughter’s natural hair, Ella was helpful, instructive and totally unpatronising. I am so grateful we found Ella! So much more than a hair salon. Highly recommended for children and their mums too.
