Kempton Camp Grounds
One of the best camp grounds near Hobart. It is a donation camp with 3 sites where you can hook up to power and water. There are 2 toilet and showers available for a small fee. Uncovered area is grassy. Great level area all round.

Great place to stop for the night with a Campervans. I had three kids with me and they enjoyed having the playground right next door. For $10 you get nearby toilets and showers. If you don’t need it the well kept public toilets are only across the road. There’s power for a few spots and water to boot supported by local council and donations from travellers.

Absolutely free camping and electricity water phone reception....toilets behind Kempton hall ...so suits self contained better playground BMX track powered sitesFree there is a donation box but no caretaker or big brother situation....I fluked finding this place although l don't require 240 power it's here and l have never seen this before....drove through the town there's a pub historic buildings a cop shop and post office general store...tap water for refilling tanks ...no toilet drop site...Great initiative y the townsfolk to provide this facility 5 stars for being free or donation...

The facilities are good , powered sites for 6 vans so need to get in early. Key required for toilet and shower but if self contained, no worries. Key available for $10, Deposit on key $20. Whilst the facilities are good, your experience depends upon others.

Nice and clean spot for a stop over. Free for 1 night(donations accepted). Very close to hiway but didn't bother us. Short walk to Huntington Tavern for dinner. Power for up to six vans and one tap for water top up.

Lovely little town, worth a visit. The camp site is $10 donation, and there are a few electrical and water hook-ups. A1 is close but we had a quiet night.

Great donation camp. Says free, however there is a steel box next to the fire hose for your donation. Free power & water at this stop, do the right thing & leave a donation

Is a good place to spend the night, easy to find. If you are lucky enough, you can find powered station. The toilets are not far from the place like 100 meters walking and the toilets are clean. They ask for donations for the use of the place which I think is fair.

Lovely town with so much history. Nice campground with private showers and toilets for $10 per night. Go to the pub, the distillery, and just have a walk around and read about all the historic houses. Spent two nights here and had a very nice time.
