It's become speed Hump and pot hole central. The council has become Bankstown centric. The Councillors are only in it for themselves and their own personal and political aspirations.

the compliance officer working for the council stands around campsie public school harold street looking for parents to fine as they pick up their kids. While he's at it the sleezy old man flirts with single mothers. I heard him telling one she's pretty and asking personal questions about her husband etc, watch out ladies, you might get a fine or worse, hit on by a creep, the council allows this behaviour as they do nothing about it and deny it ever happened basically calling you a liar even though you heard and saw it with your own eyes.

I tend to agree with everyone's comments here.Slow to take action. When you have an issue, it takes a long time for someone to come E.g. complaints about people dumping rubbish or noise pollution. They don't follow up or get back to you even after a number of calls or emails. When you get a case manager, their phone always rings out.If you are lucky and get them on the phone 10 seconds later they say they are busy" and need to hang up the phone. No call back

Have rang council regard my building application6 times and have had no return calls after leaving messages. This council needs to be held accountable. Absolute joke.

Garbage Council. Ever since they've merged with Bankstown they've declined heavily. If you look at our streets and the state they're in, you'll find that the community is both unmaintained and dirty. It is as if the rates acquired from members of the Community are being pocketed rather than being used to maintain and further improve our community. The customer support when calling up the business center is extremely poor, and most staff are untrained and unaware of both Australian Law, and customer service etiquette. I had a problem regarding the Nature Strip in-front of my property as council sent me a notice to maintain THEIR land, I denied on grounds that I'm not at liberty to maintain their property and that they should send me relevant law acts and sections that pertains to their policy. They could not send me any relevant laws, and instead they kept persisting to a non-nonexistent policy. The policy they're referring to is THEIR policy that doesn't correlate to any Law Acts and doesn't require the FREE citizen to maintain public land.It is disgusting that we are harassed by representatives of the community to clean up the mess that we pay council rates for. It is disgusting that we're also threaten to have action taken against us if we do not slave for them so they can pocket more money from the community. Definitely this council needs a royal commission, because they're failing the people.

Just got off the phone regarding council rates notices/invoices with two separate customer service employees. I don't think I've ever been this mad after a phone call. I asked for a certain document which they explained could not be given for a certain reason which I understood. Then I moved on the explain why I was asking for it in the first place and what the entire complicated story was behind it and you'd expect a customer service employee, being paid for well CUSTOMER service to listen and at least provide any actions we could take.Well, NOT for this council, this lady cut me off rudely halfway through, saying the equivalent of well, I can't solve your problem, I get that you're probably going to tell me your entire story but I really can't be assed to listen, so please send an email and they can help you. She then puts me on hold for almost 10 minutes while she checks the name under an invoice and comes back to tell me oh, this statement, another one (based on what the first employee told me) we actually CAN give you. Then proceeds tell me in the most condescending way possible, you're obviously not the owner and I have no way to confirm your identity as the son yada yada... Proceeds to cut me off several times as I try to ask, if the owner was on the phone, could she confirm her identity. The lady almost screams no at me.After a solid 5 minute back and forth, where I get increasingly mad at the lack of respect and professionalism, she tells me all the owner has to do is go over the counter. Could she not have said that at the start?!Worst council experience I have had ever and worst phone call I've ever been through hands down. For residents who actually live in this great suburb, the good is definitely balanced by the council you have.

Whenever I've contacted council to get information or organise housing certificates they have been helpful and courteous. I recently went in to collect a certificate and the staff were friendly and efficient. By far this has been one of the easiest councils to deal with. The most disappointing aspect of this council is that they dont have free waste collection

Council harassing residents instead of of providing service, ridiculous list of issues from stolen property, attempted land sale then threats to change land structure and then requirement follow up council owned maintenance tasks
