Blue Lyrebird Co Living Blue Mountains

I am staying here since oct.last year and my experience here is awesome, the manager, miss wendy is very approachable and always got your back whatever you need, the place got it all from the kitchen to the dining hall etc...Highly recommend this place!!!

For short or long-term self contained accommodation in Katoomba, this is the place to stay. Large private rooms with a TV, bar fridge, microwave, and all the things to make you feel at home. Priced similar to an 8 bed dorm at the YHA, it just makes sense. The place is quiet and has excellent facilities including a very large fully stocked kitchen and free laundry! Located close to the train station and public transport, it is very accessible with great food and dining close by. Wendy will look after you and do everything to make sure you are very happy you chose to stay at the Blue Lyrebird. See you there!

I've been living there with my wife for four months and we had a really nice experience at the Blue Lyrebird hostel.We were in a private room with own bathroom. The kitchen is huge and it has everything you need.People there is amazing, we really enjoyed our time with them.The location is great, close to the train station, restaurants and supermarkets.Special thanks to Wendy, who did everything easy for us.

The Blue Lyrebird no longer has vacancies for short term rental ... It only provides long term accommodation ... In 2020 my friend and I had a great time at Blue Mountains Backpacker Hostel, now called Blue Lyrebird Co Living Blue Mountains. Wendy looked after us very well and allowed us to store our electric bikes under cover out of the rain. The common kitchen is huge and is well equipped with everything needed for cooking. The toilets and showers were very clean. There is a large TV in the dining / lounge area and a large screen in the entertainment room for watching movies. There is a machine in the hallway which dispenses ice cubes. We played snooker in the lounge area. And our room had a good sized TV with a remote. There is plenty of car parking over the road from the hostel with unlimited parking time which is great considering how close to the railway station that the hostel is. And the hostel is very close to Dan Murphy's and to a large fruit and vegetable outlet and in general to the shopping centre. The staff couldn't have been nicer with warm smiles.

I recently moved to Katoomba to take up a new job. Met Wendy who runs the facility. She offered me long term accommodation at the Blue Lyrebird. She was so helpful with my move. The place is a credit to her. So we’ll run. Great private rooms at a very reasonable price. Clean & well maintained with awesome lounge & cooking facilities. Wendy is a credit to the place. So helpful & friendly.

Great place to stay if you are a student around the blue mountains area. The staff are extremely nice and will go above and beyond to help out any way they can.

Hi EveroneI am leaving this review as a thank you note to the blue lyrebird hostel team as they were really welcoming during my 6 months of tenure with them.Especially Wendy who is the hostel manager, she help take care of any problems the hostel had swiftly.Would tell any travellers that are planning to stay long or short to truly consider the hostel as an option as it is located at a prime location and the hospitality that is received is great.

Wendy was incredibly accommodating during our Easter stay, even during our booking process, gave us local recommendations and helped us really focus on enjoying the stay in Katoomba. Would definitely recommend anyone staying long term to check this place out. Will definitely be back, cheers Wendy!
