Gourmet Chestnuts

Incredibly amazing quality chestnut products. World Class and true to the European taste and quality. So wonderful to see this coming out of a small Australian business and great customer service.

I recently ordered a box of Marron glacè. I have been searching for them for a while, it is not something that you can easily find in shops here.I tried them once before, 4 years ago, sent from France and remembered the taste. Thank you for making them so well) it is not a cheap product, but definitely it is worth trying)

Just received my order and I must say that I am very happy with my purchasing experience. Jane is very friendly and answered all my queries and my order arrived faster than I expected (most of my orders online are delayed due to the COVID-19 ). I will be ordering again definitely! :) Raph

Ordered the peeled chestnuts, sweetened chestnut puree and chestnut flour, haven't used the flour so I won't comment on that. However the peeled chestnuts were huge disappointment, I was expected the natural sweet nutty flavour of boiled/steamed chestnuts, but instead i have this... don't know how to describe the smell - old wet towel + fermented wine? It was not a pleasant smell, the texture was ok but the taste was off. I thought maybe I had a bad batch, so I opened the second one but same unpleasant taste, definitely not the sweet chestnut flavour I'm used to (The peeled chestnuts costs $9.95 a bag). I then tried the sweetened puree, again it's not what I expected - if you are hoping for the Mont Blanc dessert style chestnut puree, then this is NOT what you're looking for! This puree is semi translucent, very sweet and somehow has a fermented clove taste to it? (even though clove was not in the ingredient list) The puree costs $12.5 a jar.The only positive thing I can say about the cheznuts products is the beautiful sturdy packaging, but if you are looking for flavourful chestnuts, sorry, I wouldn't recommend it.
