Fremantle Opals

My husband was in Australia and purchased me an opal necklace from this establishment a few months ago, with a plan to gift it to me for my birthday. He knew how much I loved opal stones so specifically researched online where he could buy me a piece of jewelry. He drove 2+ hours to get to this store from where his hotel was, and while in the store everyone was very nice in helping him pick something out. They knew he was from out of town. He presented me last week with the necklace he purchased me for my birthday, and after only wearing it for 6 hours, I discovered the stone had fallen out at some point throughout the day. I searched high and low for the stone but couldn’t find it. I reached out immediately to the company via Facebook and email and provided photos, the box and bag it came in (since we had just opened it), and a photo of our receipt (both the credit card transaction and the itemized receipt). Helen, the owner, emailed us back saying if we wanted it fixed we would have to pay to have the pendant sent to Australia, (we’re in Canada) or she could mail us a loose opal stone and we could have it set ourselves. At first, I was ok with this response, until I started calling jewelry stores to see how much it would cost for them to set this - it’s not cheap. In addition, we are unsure of taxes and import fees on the stone since it’s being sent to Canada, to which they replied they are not responsible for. After replying and providing more information on the pendants size, I haven’t heard back from Helen since last Friday; I can only assume she’s now ignoring us because she doesn’t want to deal with an unhappy customer. We LOVED the piece and understand things happen - it wasn’t set properly in the pendant - but we feel it’s only right to provide a piece of jewelry that’s not faulty to your clients and to reconcile this once it happened. If we don’t hear back from Helen, the store owner, within the next day, we will be disputing the charge for the necklace on our credit card. We hope this can get resolved.

What a fantastic shop to visit. The selection of opals is second to none and the staff freely shared their expert knowledge of the opals with us. Cannot thank Helen, Daryl and the staff at Fremantle Opals enough for their fabulous work on arranging a wedding ring for me which required a custom fit and design. Helen took care of the whole process from start to finish. What a great find. I have made two visits to this shop. On both occasions the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I ended up buying some beautiful local WA gems of mookaite jasper only found in WA to remember my visit. Also purchased earrings made from South Sea pearls cultivated from the north west coast of Australia.Thank you ladies for your kindness.

I had a necklace that needed to be repaired so I popped into Fremantle Opals and what a pleasant surprise to be greeted by Clare and Chelsea, both have excellent customer service skills, they made me feel very welcome and fixed my necklace quickly and for a reasonable price. I have just moved and have ongoing issues, the girls even gave me advice on my leasing problems which helped me immensely. Thank you Clare and Chelsea for an enjoyable experience shopping with you! Very friendly & knowledgable staffs in this shop..i've been buying loose stones from this opal shops since 2010 and set it into gold bracelet and rings. The collections are very good and nice designs too. Im very happy with every single solid opal stones that i've bought,and on my recent trip i bought a pair of solid opal earings and white opal earing too.
