Nurtured Birth

I had wonderful experiences with Nurtured Birth therapists. They were funny, gentle and supportive. I admire Sarah as a businesswoman for setting up Nurtured Birth and finding such incredible caring professionals to staff it. However, I cannot recommend Sarah as a doula. She was late to appointments without giving notice, condescending when talking to my husband and I, answered questions during pregnancy with referrals for paid services when I was simply seeking reassurance, and unsupportive during birth as the cascade of interventions unfolded.

We visited Sarah today to help my wife prepare for birth. She is amazing: very knowledgeable and insightful. We were taught a range of movements and exercises that will help my wife in labour. She managed to reset us after a stressful week and got us both into a very calm state of mind, ready for our new baby. My wife and I came out of the session in a state of Zen, all thanks to Sarah.

For a first time mama, the road ahead can be a little bit daunting. Sarah is an incredibly warm-hearted, dedicated and informed doula who at every step helped me and my husband feel ready and empowered during pregnancy, during labour and after my son was born. I feel especially lucky to have had Sarah's support on the phone at home before going into hospital and at the hospital when there were complications and hospital procedures to navigate. Throughout the labour, Sarah had instant rapport with the midwives and hospital staff, was caring, unflappable and was able to maintain a sense of humour - also important! As a qualified massage therapist, her treatments were also great before and during the birth. Thanks Sarah for all the wisdom and moments you've shared with me on this mama journey so far. You're just wonderful!

I’ve had two massages with Sharon and have booked in for a third. She is so warm, caring and knowledgeable. During my first massage she worked on my neck/shoulder where I was having chronic pain that had worsened during early pregnancy. Since then I have had no pain or issues with my neck, I am pain-free for the first time in years!! I’m so grateful she’s been part of my pregnancy journey. Highly recommend Sharon :)

I had an amazing prenatal massage with Sharon. After my massage the pain I had in my left inner thigh and left leg (ligament pain) disappear completely.Really happy to be able to move without pain. I highly recommend her.

Sarah and her team at Nurtured Birth have created an absolute haven for pre and post natal women. I was highly anxious throughout my pregnancy and saw Sarah on a weekly basis towards the end and after our discussions and wonderful massages, I felt a little bit more at ease about the journey ahead. I can't recommend Sarah highly enough for massage, childbirth education and general care & support. I also saw Melissa Abrahams for acupuncture and can say, without a doubt, she is the best acupuncturist I have ever seen. She was so professional, genuine and kind. If you are pregnant, do yourself a favour and see these incredible women!

I had my first massage with Sarah at 37 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I so wish I had discovered her earlier!! Sarah was incredibly supportive and has not only a wonderful set of massage hands but also possess' great intuition into what a mama is going through and needs. I originally just went to ease my heavily pregnant aches and pains but ended up seeing Sarah weekly until I gave birth as she was amazing at helping me prepare emotionally and mentally for an attempted VBAC. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and feel blessed to have met such a strong, kind woman to empower me at such a special time in my life.

I had my first of two induction massages with Sharon yesterday and already looking forward to returning next week. The place has a really nice feel about it and was just what I needed to reset and focus on relaxing these last 2-3 weeks before baby arrives. Sharon is very knowledgeable and has great technique! I had an incredible womb massage with Kimberley and she seems caring. However, she requests a full initial consultation (90 min) and goes through a full health history to give a 20 min massage, which is unnecessary for a massage. It costs $180 initially and $150 on later appointments. This is extremely expensive. It's also unfair to charge ppl seeking fertility overly. Apart from this, even for other treatments, the price doesn't match her experience as a recently graduated practitioner.It's also not covered under private health insurance for alternative medicine or remedial massage. That massage can be get from any chinese massage practitioner for $30.

I saw Sarah when I was 40 weeks pregnant and my baby was still not engaged. My Dr was talking about a c-section which I wanted to avoid.After 2 treatments with Sarah I went into labour naturally a few days before my scheduled cesarean.It was such a lovely experience meeting Sarah and her massages were great. Her calm and caring approach, together with her knowledge and experience made me feel very comfortable and relaxed.I would recommend Sarah for general pregnancy massages, as well as the labour inducing massage treatment.Thanks Sarah for helping make the last couple weeks of my pregnancy relaxing and enjoyable.
