Normally love it here!!! But got kicked out immediately for external alcohol (that wasn’t mine but was a friends) which is fair, but staff member was rude and aggressive although I was cooperative and left. And for this staff member to assume pro-nouns and be constantly spoken to as ‘her’ and ‘she’ in a degrading manner was the most shocking, considering the venues morals. Very disappointed to have been spoken to in such a disrespectful manner, although I caused no trouble and did what I was instructed to do.Generally I thought you get a warning first then kicked out. But still a good venue, just one bad staff member.

My absolute favourite place in Newcastle. Feel at home and safe whilst enjoying a beer and some killer vegan food. Not to mention, enjoy dropping in for one of their many awesome events.

This place kicked me out because I needed a tampon from my friend asap. Apparently this is not acceptable and is a wrong doing. We tried to go back in and explain but this was ignored. Terrible! Absolutely ridiculous!! The worst staff I have ever seen!

Came here with my wife and her boyfriend and listened to a really great performer called Big Jeramoo. His spectacular music really put my wife and her boyfriend in a great mood. Will definitely come back next time he is playing. Here is my reaction whilst my wife and her boyfriend were having fun time.

This place has the HOTTEST bar staff in newy!! All of their drinks are CHEAP and they always have KILLER music. Got those unisex toilets too because everyone deserves to feel comfortable and safe when going to the toilet. 10/10 will be going there every weekend

Brilliant venue for some electronic music on a Friday and Saturday night. Pretty diverse range of music styles most nights and some absolutely stand out decorations. This is one of my favourite venues in Newcastle. If you're after some good music, and people who are less likely to judge and maybe a little more alternative or hippy, then don't loom past The Lass O'Gowrie

Mexican diner is open! This is a completely biased review. The Lass is our local pub, close to work. The staff have always been really nice. The Hawke's craft beer range is great. Happy hour from 4-6pm on weekdays is gold!

Great hotel, supports many facets of live music/talent, polite/helpful/supportive staff. Will definitely be on the lookout to see what the hotel is getting up to and attending/supporting.

This is arguably the coolest pub ever to exist in Australia. House and techno blaring until 3am, sick crowd, relaxed security not breathing down anyone’s throats and cheap beers. Newcastle does it right.

Went here the other night for the first time in years. It is still a great pub. Very warm welcome and I sat outside in the beer garden for an open mic night on a Thursday night. Beautifully decorated with fairy lights but very low-key and a great place for casual catch-ups and enjoying a beautiful night outside.
