Three Pillars
I have been in my property for 3 years which I would consider quite a new property but three pillars considers it an old project. I moved in around March 2015.In February 2016 we started having problems with our solar assisted hot water system constantly leaking over the colorbond roof sounding like torrential rain every day even on a bright shiny day.Three pillars sent out their builder who replaced the “frost valve”. It was definitely not a frosty February in the middle of a Melbourne summer. Walking through the 65 property estate you could hear the same problem happening to many neighbors. It is now one day from February 2018 and the same problem has occurred however it is now a problem that the builder considers small and appliance in nature therefore it must be taken up with the manufacturer chromagen whom are extremely difficult to deal with.I understand that three pillars did not make the actual unit but I’m disappointed that they supplied such a poor quality product (read all the reviews of other people having similar issues plus a lot of neighbors reporting the same) of which now will have problems on going. I’m not a builder/handy or capable of climbing up on the roof and with a tri level property must incur the cost of a crane for any works to be carried out on the roof.It appears that this developer is building properties that will not stand the test of a few years..

WARNING - AVOID!We purchased a property in an estate called 'The Royal' in Sunshine in January 2015 and was promised the property to be completed by January 2016. It is now May 2017 and we are still two months away from completion. Throughout this entire process they have not communicated any rational reason why the build has been delayed. There has been a turnover of staff within Three Pillars too, adding to circus we have had to deal with. The directors/managers of Three Pillars, including Hoogenbosch family and Ben Thomas, have been horrific to deal with. They have admitted they are juggling too many projects at the same time, and thus 'The Royal' has fallen down the pecking order. Other property owners in the same situation as us have commented exactly the same thing.Don't be fooled by the polished website and brochures as they are all a smokescreen. They are borderline incompetent to deal with and I wouldn't be surprised if their entire enterprise collapsed soon with debt, as they have entered into so many projects they are falling behind on, and are relying on deposits for their cash flow.PLEASE AVOID TO SAVE ON FUTURE HEARTBREAK!

Please, if you have a spare minute, give my review a read! After many years of hard work, I saved enough for a deposit on my first house in Mooroolbark. It was on the old Primary School land through this builder.Have had nothing but headaches from the start, resulting in myself having a nervous breakdown for period of time, let me explain;- First on pre-handover inspection I went through the house, being from a trade background and not being too pedantic, I came up with 3 and a half pages of defects (50 Individual items). Mind you, this is after they go through their own checks with their own trades and managers.- Second was their response to some of these. Most items they would deny to fix, stating that patch marks in the plaster and paint drips and chips throughout the house “can’t be seen from 2 meters back, so they don’t count and we won’t fix them.“-Third was their response to larger more serious structural items that where wrong with the house. On the first level using posi joists, the living room floor deviated in height over a 2 meter span by 22mm, you could feel it when you walked over it. (Structural engineers state the regulation is no more than 4mm over 2m)The response from the builder was denying there was a problem, stating that by myself standing there, it is making the floor warp and making these exaggerated deviations. Mind you, I weigh 72kg, I don’t consider myself that heavy to deviate a massive floor joist. After being completely baffled by the ‘builders’ response and rejecting his claims, his final words where:“ If you want this fixed, take us to VCAT”.-Forth at my next door neighbors house, they had a bath tub on the ground floor in their bathroom and wondered why every time the kids used their tub, water gathered outside the bathroom and soaking into the carpet in the hallway.Again, the builder came on site and said to “stop the kids from splashing too much” as to the reason for the water accumulating in the carpet.2 years later, before they moved out, I saw for myself the bath tub had never been plumbed in!The water would drain straight onto the slab in the bathroom for all these years.Last is how the house has stood the test of a short period of time. After a few months, cracks appeared in architraves and timber skirts, clearly showing the builder has used ‘green’ cheap timber that has not dried out properly.Again, when asked to fix these problems, they would deny to fix any of them, stating that the cracks are no greater than a 1mm wide.A brand new house, and I have cracks all through it, something to be proud of.The roof guttering has been an issue multiple times, not just at my house too, where after a downpour, water has gone into the external and internal walls causing wet carpets and plaster.Again, the builder “can’t find any issues.”Finally the render on the outside of all the property’s in the complex. After 1 year of sun, there where massive gaps appearing on most houses. Some gaps where over 15mm wide!In their defense, it was fixed after 6 months, but it just goes to show again their attitude toward quality of their builds. After all these items being wrong at just my house and my immediate neighbors, think seriously now, do you really want to build a house with these kind of people that take such a serious lack of respect and build quality.Do you really want to move into a new house like this for yourself and your family?
