DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!I was half an hour late to my appointment, by accident!! ( which I apologised for)Only to be treated absolutely horrible, the owner is very unprofessional!I was very frustrated to be told 20mins into waiting to receive a haircut, I was unable to get! Due to the owner changing her mind.The stylist, apologised to me and said she did have time for a haircut but it’s out of her hand..How about the owner does less talking and actually do some customer service!!I was of course very frustrated and upset, and was told “although she had time for a cut, she would not let her do it” because I was upset and voiced my concern.Horrible customer service, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

I have followed Melinda at each salon for over 10 years. Both Mel and Lilah have a great deal of knowledge with colour , they are honest in what goals are achievable and prioritise the health of your hair. Everyone always comments on my colourHighly recommend !!

Terrible experience, will never come here again! And definitely do not recommend. They only care about your money not about the service provided! Absolutely disgusting!

I would not recommend this hair salon. Unfortunately I tried them thinking they would be of a high standard based on their social media pages/posts. I should’ve listened to the reviews here. I had a really awful and uncomfortable experience, and to make things worse I was overcharged.I booked with Mel specifically and well in advance, as I wanted someone with experience with bronde hair. On the day things were confusing.I had another girl, Bianca, do my consult and toner; she never introduced herself so at first I thought she may have been Mel - Bianca did mention TAFE during our conversation about my colour, so I asked a bit about her and she mentioned she was a first year apprentice 9m in. I felt quite nervous from here, but thought surely Mel would come and go through everything again with me thoroughly especially since it was my first visit and she’d never even seen my hair before.Mel came to do my foils after I’d been waiting for half an hour. She didn’t introduce herself. She didn’t ask to see any photos of what I was wanting, or chat about foil positioning etc. she just had everything ready and started without any personalisation.My foils were washed off by Bianca. Mel didn’t come to look at the lightening to decide on a toner, she asked Bianca how light my hair got from another room. There was a lot of talking from across rooms. Bianca then put the toner on, and ended up swapping half way with another hairdresser - I felt like I was just fit in with whoever had time for me, despite thinking I had booked in advance with someone and for a long appointment - seems like making money is a priority for this salon.What made it worse, is while the toner was setting, I saw Mel was getting her eyebrows done. This made me feel like I was so unimportant, and I was basically paying top dollar for a supervised apprentice to do my hair.Finally Mel made an appearance to cut and blow dry my hair. She never asked what finish I wanted (wavy/straight). Just dried it off and straightened the front. She trimmed it by 1cm just by letting my hair sit on my chest - i have a blunt cut and it is noticeably uneven now.I was charged $430. I had been in there for 4 hours.The service I booked was a half head foils (balayage), toner, cut and blow dry. I felt like I got foils, a trim and dry off. My hair is very similar in colour to when I went in, and even my husband said it doesn’t look very different, and looks frizzy compared to the last time I had my hair done.Mel did ask me what I thought at the end, and I said I was a bit disappointed with the colour. She offered to have me back in a week or two to darken it which would reduce the warmth. After the experience though I didn’t really want to return, it felt so unprofessional and I didn’t understand why I’d been charged so much.I tried to do the right thing and contact Ame directly, they refunded me $35 and offered to have me back again for the darker toner and a blow dry. Unfortunately I’ve decided not to return and have booked elsewhere for a correction, I’m too scared to have them touch my hair again and I do not want to waste any more time in a place that makes me feel uncomfortable and unimportant.

I’ve been coming here for a year now after trialling a few salons for a few years. Lilah is lovely and was able to finally give me the colour I wanted. I honestly believe the one star reviews are fake and unfair as this is the best salon I’ve been to and no, I was not asked to do this review.

These ladies are the best hairdressers in the business! I would not go anywhere else! Mel has been doing my hair for 10+ years now and always does an incredible job. From colour, cuts to styling - nails it every time! And my hair has never been healthier! Every stylist at Ame is super lovely, professional and very skilled and I always look forward to my visits here.

Disappointed unfortunately. My appointment was at 11:30am but I waited until 12pm before anyone started putting on my colour (I understand this happens from time to time and it’s really not a big deal, I just think you should acknowledge the wait time but no one did that). I had booked my colour with Mel, but she didn’t touch my hair and there was no mention about why or if I minded someone else colouring my hair. When I was at the basin having my treatment done, there was no scalp massage, just a quick brush of the ends. I actually asked the girl “oh, is that it” when she told me to head back to my seat and she replied “yes, all done”. As the stylist finished my blowdry, I went to look at my hair and run my fingers through it, but there was so much product used, they were getting stuck in my hair. My hair doesn’t feel soft at all like it should after a treatment. I am happy with the root colour though and the two girls that did my hair were nice, but I’m disappointed that I booked in with Mel specifically and got someone else.

The best haircut I’ve had in ages! Since moving to Perth two years ago, I’ve struggled to find a decent hairdresser who just gets hair and knows how to cut. I loved the fact that I didn’t need to say much to Mel about what I was after and she just knew what my hair needed and managed to correct a bad haircut from a different salon. So happy! Can’t wait for my next visit :)
