Arcare Aged Care Maroochydore

Absolutely rude militaristic reception.... the place has a jail like atmosphere.... feel sorry for anyone placing family member in that facility...

From my very current experience, I would like to express that the lady who does the tours and discusses future placement at Arcare Maroochydore is genuinely kind, incredibly sensitive and considerate of family feelings, highly obliging and continually provides feedback regarding future placement/waiting list process. My family have been so less stressed having her touch our lives.

I give this rating based on a meeting with the lady who gives the tours. I don't wish to name her as i'm sure the company will know who she is.I'm qualifying this review by saying that I am very experienced in the aged care industry and was trying to help a friend find a place for her husband.At our meeting prior to the inspected tour of the facility, one of the first questions that was asked was whether there was a house being sold. When we explained that there was not, we were told that the waiting list was very long and it was going to be a long time before a bed would be available. We were advised that we should look at other properties.In my experience, it was very obvious that this Arcare property/representative was not interested in accepting a fully funded person. It's impossible to say how long it will be to get a bed as you are waiting for a person to leave the facility, in one way or another.I was so disappointed with the interaction as it was so blatantly obvious that unless you could pay a RAD you won't get a place in this facility. Profit over people!

Very nice, staff are friendly

My mother now 91 has been here for 3 1/2 years now. I can't praise the staff enough The professional and personal approach is to be commended .Communication regarding my mother's situation is regular and cheerful. Thank you

Arcade Maroochydore is certainly a lovely place for fairly independent residents. It appears to be a different story for some residents requiring a high level of care due to incapicating illnesses. It seems that these residents may slip under the radar and their medical needs may not be adequately met particularly if their relatives are not living close by and are unable to closely supervise proceedings.
