The Good Guys Ballarat

We always research and shop around for quotes to get the product we want for the best price possible & service. Over the past 30 years, we have often ended up at Good Guys when purchasing products they sell. They have stocked a good range of quality products and offered very good after sales service on the very few occasions we have needed it. We have always been able to walk out with the product we wanted or have been able to arrange for good quality delivery and or installation at a reasonable price.As with all large item purchases, we go prepared; after researching the product, we're looking to purchase and becoming aware of the best prices on offer in store, as well as online. Definitely don't assume online purchase prices are cheaper or a better overall deal. I have always been able to improve on those by negotiating in person with sales staff and/or Department Managers. They are usually prepared to negotiate on their in store advertised price also in order to better the best price you've been quoted by a competitor. You just need to ask. If not, you may have to go elsewhere. It's worth it as you can save a lot, particularly on big ticket items.Don't be afraid to ask sales staff questions on other aspects of the product to ensure you purchase a product you will be happy with and meets your needs.

Our first visit to Good Guys Ballarat after being a customer for years in SA. The service, prices and range is very good. We bought what we needed and will happily return.

I have been a regular to this store. But I just had the most horrible experience from the in-store customer service team, bought a gas cooktop that couldn’t met the height clearance, I thought fair enough just need to wait for refund, got a call from their customer service team saying I have to go to the store to get the refund, very rude tone and attitude. I guess they never train their customer service staff to speak properly, dropped in the store to get refund, admin young lady was nice but then the exact customer service team member who called me, brought out the manager and start confronting me, asking what I was not happy about. Apparently the team member twisted the story and saying she was nice and I was the one to blame, everyone should know their own kitchen and the height clearance between their kitchen fan and the cooktop. When I arrived the store, I wasn’t complaining wasn’t nasty just asking for my refund and amazingly enough they teamed up to confront me. I won’t call them the good guys and probably won’t shop there anymore

Absolutely terrible experience, I had ordered a dishwasher and paid for the installation but they postponed it for 2 weeks first , then 1 month , then 2 months , then another month , where they are still posting the process and I still don’t have my dishwasher. When I asked for it on the phone , the worker there asked me to fix up my attitude, who the hell is she. Completely terrible customer service and hope that they employ better ppl

Went in yesterday to purchase a microwave oven for work, and a microwave oven for my mother. Got the first microwave, wandered around the shop trying to find where to pay for it, heaving the heavy microwave around with me. Asked one of the sales staff where I pay for the microwave, was directed back to the rear of the store to pay, so heaved the heavy microwave way back down the back of the shop to pay. Told the person behind the counter that I needed to grab another one, no offer of any sort of assistance to cart microwave out to car. I didn't bother buying the second microwave. Store layout is atrocious!!

Bought a dishwasher which was almost immediately faulty. I have now been over four months waiting for it to be fixed or replaced. Finally got a delivery of a new machine on Monday - with its door badly damaged, so now I am back to waiting.Phoning the store is very problematic, calls are rarely answered. Really not impressed, all I wanted was a simple dishwasher.

A huuuuuuge THANK YOU to Hanna (for her knowledge and listening to what we were after..not just a sale!) and when the Melbourne store stuffed up our washing machine delivery..Nicole. Nicole is a LEGEND!! She proved that a stores merit is on the service AFTER the sale! (They are all helpful when you are buying) Nicole got our machine delivered and installed after it was on its way back to Melbourne...We can not thank her enough!! She is a MAJOR reason why we will shop there again! (I'm not a 'big store' person as a rule) And yes...we did compare places within a 100km radius of Ballarat...so glad we went with them!!

The Good Guys lost a sale from me recently, I was after a new dishwasher, the sales person was excited to make the sale as the dishwasher I was after was in stock, expect when I asked if I can pick it up today? Oh the warehouse guys have gone home" (the warehouse is under the store) apparently the "warehouse guys" don't even work the same hours as the store! so unless you are after anything bigger than a toaster you are at the mercy of the "warehouse guys" if you can actually collect the item

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for a washer and dryer for my daughter I was served by Hannah she was super friendly didn’t try and hard sell me anything I didn’t need. She listened to what I wanted and gave good advice on the product I was looking at.Great customer service and retail skills I bought both the washer and dryer.Definitely would recommend anyone looking to purchase an item to ask for her as she is a very approachable and has great product knowledge.10/10
