Dapto Medical & Family Practice

It has been approximately a year since I started coming to Dapto Medical and Family Practice. My first impressions of this practice were very favourable and they continue to be that way. I have found the staff at Reception to be particularly welcoming, helpful and friendly (so different to previous experiences).Love the HotDoc app which makes scheduling an appointment very easy and convenient. Dr Armstrong has been my family’s GP for a number of years. He has provided healthcare of a very high standard, due to his proactive and thorough approach during consultations and the follow up arrangements for any specialist care.I highly recommend Dapto Medical and Family Practice.

Highly recommended. The staff are lovely and help as much as they possibly can, they are fantastic. Dr. Ooi is amazing, he may run late each day but that is because he cares and never rushes you out the door with a script jammed in your hand, he does everything that needs to be done and then asks if there is anything else you need! I wait knowing that when it is my turn i will be dealt with in a caring, methodical, in depth and non rushing manner with a personal manner. Caring professionals, that is all you need to know.

Dr Ooi is the best, he has been my Doctor for many years, always caring and absolutely thorough.He is highly dedicated and professional.

Absolute joke of a place. Multiple issues.1) First time patient left waiting for the receptionist to finish her personal phone call where she was discussion what she wanted for dinner.2) Dr Santosh had a real problem being able to listen and to understand why I was there(I moved from Sydney to Wollongong and need a local doctor who will run blood work every 6 months as per the recommendation from my Sydney diabetic specialist). Somehow believes I am not longer diabetic. I said sure happy to run tests if that's what you believe. All he did was run basic blood.3) Had a follow up phone appointment for 2:20pm, and of course its now 5:20pm with no phone call. I called the clinic to find out what is happening, where they reassured that he hasn't forgotten and that he isn't running 3 hours late somehow.4) I will update if the call actually occurs, but given the blood work he chose to run won't show anything, it will be a pointless call where I will find another doctor that actually knows how to do their job.

I have been going to DMFP for about 8 years now and they always go above and beyond. About 2 months ago my mother had tried to go to her Doctor's practice as she was feeling very unwell, they turned her away, she then went to DMFP, reception took one look at her and saw how unwell she was and was able to get her in to a Dr within 15 minutes. In a nutshell, the Dr sent her to the hospital and it turns out she was very ill and could have died. If my mum did not see a Dr she was going to go home in the hope that it would pass.I could not recommend this practice enough.Thank you for always putting people first.

Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new doctor. Was lucky enough to book in the Dr. Christina Gray, who is a professional, empathetic and very personable doctor. I have also had only positive experience so far with reception staff and nurses performing blood tests. All round happy with this medical practice.

Dr Ooi is the best GP I've ever met. Patient, kind, listens very well, cheerful, ever helpful.The front desk staff are brilliant and have gone out of their way to help us in the past. I'd strongly recommend this practice to anyone.

Had I been writing this review a few years ago I would have been giving 5 stars. Have been going to see Dr Ooi for both myself and my family for about 5 years. He is a caring man and always very thorough. Practise manager is also beautiful. However the receptionists who answer the phone have grown increasingly rude over the last while. In particular the male receptionist. He sounds like he would rather be anywhere else. And I respect the fact that anyone can have a bad day but every day seems to be a bad day for this team. Am now changing to a practise where people have some manners when they answer the phone. Everyone is under pressure at work for one reason or another. It’s no excuse for rudeness.

Dr Ooi has been my doctor for past 16yrs (since I moved to Dapto). He never rushes you through a diagnosis. He has a fabulous sense of humour. Is very caring & compassionate. He's not a doctor who gives out pills carelessly. Always listens & gives best advice. I know I must be a-trial for staff there as I wear hearing aids & they often have to repeat info., but all is done with great kindness & patience. I wouldn't go anywhere else. (My 4 grandchildren love him too!!)
