Kate Gallager Psychology

I saw Kate for four years and went through significant trauma and health issues. I stopped seeing her because she would comment on my weight and also compared my situation to other patients to give me ‘perspective’ which was hard to hear. I decided to try and give her another go a few years later and she told me to go and see somebody else and said that the last few months I saw her were “not therapeutically effective”. I have the messages she sent me. Where is your compassion? What’s worse is that she is also a nurse. Absolutely disgusting.

You are amazing. Such an empathetic gentle listener, with a great sense of humour. Thank you for being so real. You are amazing at what you do.I will forever be referring people to you.

I have been meaning to write a review for a very long time, and I am writing this so people can make an informed decision before they spend $$$ on an appointment. I saw Kate once about a year or so ago. I was very shocked at multiple things she said to me, for example “it sounds like there’s a lot of worry going on for no reason”. She also said, after sharing my struggles with eating disorders, that I should know how to nourish my body correctly because I’m a PT. My sister also saw Kate for one session and she made very unhelpful comments about self-harm scars. I have seen a few psychologists over my time and I have never had an experience like this.
