Avenel Meats

A colleague brought in some spicy (Bushranger sausages) for a work barbeque, which were to die for! So naturally I decided to venture out to Avenel to check this joint out. Was greeted by the delightful smell of a fine boutique butchers shop and a very warm and gregarious Scotty, the owner of the shop. I was sure to pick up some of those bushrangers and was tempted to try the ones with the beer flavour from a local brewery. I ended up walking out with bushranger sausages, a big 1 1/4 inch thick bit of rump (the only thing wrong with it is that I didn't buy more!), chicken bites and skirt steak. Reckon I have found my new butcher shop! Did I mention that the sausages are the best that I have ever had?

Avenel meats is fabulous. Scott and staff are so friendly and helpful and the product range great. Always soon delicious.

Artisan butcher. Knows his product. Makes his own bacon and jerky; both excellent products. Friendly. Happy to chat and explain anything and everything to do with meat.

Meat is excellent, tasty and delicious, whatever you choose, I haven't had anything to complain about, have tried a lot and been back often. Smokes own meat, wow. Excellent service, honest and helpful. So very good. Thank you Avenel Meats.

Stopped in here on the way to our campsite, and ended up making a 30 minute detour on the way home specifically to come back here. The steaks we got were awesome, and the bushranger bangers are easily the best snags I've had in my life so far. 2 hour round trip from home but I'll be making the trip for my next bbq.

Amazing quality of meat. No preservatives no colours no nothing. Just amazing taste. The ham is the best I ever ate. Had the saussages and schnitzel. It was to die for.
