Absolutely love the WLPA. We have adopted our cat from Jonine 4 years ago and the advise we received even over time was outstanding. We are now lucky enough to foster with them and everyone is so incredibly helpful and does so much for the animals. In awe of all their hard work and dedication. Thanks for saving our Hugo from the streets!

I adopted the two most wonderful kitties here four years ago and they are now part of our family. The volunteers are amazing and I can’t that them enough for finding us our little treasures.

Jonine at WLPA was so amazing in helping us find a wonderful cat for our family. As first time cat owners she took time to understand our needs and matched us with the most perfect cat Cleopatra. Jonine helped teach us how to look after her and interpret her needs. She made herself readily available to our follow up calls and texts when Cleo became unwell and organised a vet check up then dropped off medication to our door a day later. We’ve been so impressed with her genuine love of animals and caring follow up. We’ve since recommended WLPA to everyone who has said they are considering getting a pet. Thank you so much Jonine and WLPA for finding us Cleo and for all of your fantastic support. Such a wonderful positive experience and I can’t rate this organisation and their fantastic staff like Jonine high enough. Thank you. You deserve a million out of 5 stars!

Literally no stars if I had the option… I needed help with 4 kittens I found and I’ve been trying to find a rescuer for them for a while, I called another shelter who recommend this horrible place (they were super kind and tried their best to help me out no shade to them). I was told to get a grip of myself and basically made me look so evil for not being able to take in the kittens for any longer. I told her the reasons why I can’t take care of them but she didn’t even want to listen, just spoke over me. Her being rude was so unnecessary, could have just told she couldn’t take them in and recommend another place like she’s doing too much for no reason. From all the reviews I’ve read, seems like she’s notorious with taking her anger out on people.Lil advice work on how you communicate and maybe have some respect. Don’t make us feel horrible. You’ve honestly lost the plot maam, I’m just hoping you don’t take your anger out on those innocent animals too…To everyone else please make this place your last resort there are so many rescue pages that deserve to be recognised by everyone. All the ones I’ve spoken to were extremely nice and helpful. I don’t know what’s up with this one though…

It was so wonderful to see Jonine again, and to confirm the adoption of our second kitten today! I am thoroughly impressed, and delighted about the professional manner and caring attitude the staff like Jonine display. We have been part of an animal journey with WLPA for a few years now. Our first (ever) cat adoption was a complete success! Jonine was such a wonderful support when we adopted an injured cat, readily offering advice and also providing necessary medication when our cat became unwell. Jonine built our confidence so much that we felt ready to adopt a second cat. We were given the chance to trial a few different cats to find the perfect fit for our existing cat. We owe so much to her for helping us out so largely and have depended on her so much these last few years, even through Covid Jonine managed to provide us with so much support! People need to remember to remain respectful of the staff giving up their time for all the cats and rabbits they have given a second chance to and how busy they must be caring for so many animals. We would not have been as delighted if not for Jonine and would like to thank her for all the extra effort and support she managed to squeeze in!

I would like to thank Jonine for all the help she has given me to find a new home for my best friend/neighbours cat after she passed away suddenly. Can't thank the WLPA enough and especially one of their wonderful volunteers, Anna in Sydney. After my Mother recently fell ill I was faced with the the unenviable task of rehoming her cat. Unable to take the care of the cat myself, and exhausting all other options through family or friends, I was then turned away from the local RSPCA (and every other animal rescue organization in the Hunter/Newcastle area - all quoting 6 to 9 month waiting lists for surrender). I then reached out to as many organisations in the greater Sydney area that I could find only to be told the same thing, all except for WLPA and Anna. She went above and beyond in a very short period time and we have today successfully found a new 'forever home' for Mia. Anna's dedication and tireless efforts as a volunteer are highly commendable and very much respected, she truly loves what she does although there is little reward for it. The WLPA and its volunteers deserve support from Local/Federal Government and Corporate Business levels. Please consider donating to this worthy cause if able to.

I am honestly super disappointed in the people out there who felt it necessary to poorly rate WLPA and write bad reviews about their hard working staff. After looking through I’ve got to say SOME of them are quite petty, given that these people are giving so much time to help these abandoned animals! I would love to see some of you put in even as much as half the effect they do in helping animals. I have never once had a bad experience with the staff mentioned and probably never will. You guys need to stop complaining for the sake of complaining and appreciate these lovely people and their wonderful work!
