Wow .. such beautiful gardens. Amazing artworks inside. And two wonderful residents. Today's Government House Open Day was really relaxed and enjoyable. The gardens were so lovely to walk through and so much bird life.

Well worth visiting. Beautiful gardens. Lawns near perfect. Don’t let the crowds scare you off for the open day. Do the walk through of the residence.

The lovely Canberra residence of the Governor General. Only open to the public on a few occasions each year. Beautiful gardens and lawns that lend themselves to be a great location for outdoor music presentations and community events. Parking is only available outside the grounds along Dunrossil Drive. Well worth visiting if it is open.

Interesting to learn the history of the house and its occupants. A nice touch is that various charities have stalls on the open day so you can learn more about them and make donations. There is a good selection of food trucks selling ice cream, sausage sizzle, cupcakes, and more. The Governor-General's Rolls-Royce Phantom VI was on display too. There was even a stall for the honours and awards section where you can see all the medals awarded by the Australian Government. A great day out for all the family.

Lovely spot to start a walk around the surrounding area - access to multiple major paths are just off the parking area in front of the main entry to Government House, or park further up for lovely walks under the shady trees

School visit. The GG was in and popped in to speak to the kids. Lovely gesture in his really busy schedule. Appreciated it. Amazing historic place with beautiful grounds.
