I like to shop small and this was one of the times I thought I’d avoid the bigger supermarkets next door. But it’s unfortunate… Unreasonable prices for very poor quality produce. To top it off the staff were so rude and racist.

At around 6:30pm 20th September 2018, my friend came to get an evening special on a couple of pasta dishes they were serving, and specifically asked if they contained nuts and eggplant. The person serving said that neither of the dishes did, and assured him they were nut and eggplant free. My sister is highly allergic to nuts and when we sat down to eat she had a couple of bites and noticed something wasn't right. After promptly asking again if the food contained nuts, the sales assistant said she didn't know and went to get another person to check the ingredients of the dish. After visibly seeing in bold letters on the sauce that it did indeed contain nuts we were forced to rush my sister to hospital for she went into anaphylactic shock. I am appalled at the service and product knowledge we received today at Freddy Frapples. Not only did their incompetence almost put someone's life at fatal risk, but they made a terrible name for themselves and their business. I will not be recommending this place to anyone and pray this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future.

Good quality produce (e.g. largest and most flavoursome Lebanese eggplants I have found in Canberra)

Friendly staff and delicious products. I love that they sell Amberly Eggs, and a good range of GF products.

One of our favourite fruit and vegetable shops ever. Fresh fruit and vegetables, well chosen for us by the family that owns the store, a great salad and juice counter and a good offer of deli stuff that is of the highest quality. We love the european imported goodies as well as the selection of some Greek goodies and foods. Love going there and do not hesitate to ask the owners for assistance. They always have great suggestions.

I often choose to shop at this store in an effort to support local business. Last week I went into the store to purchase a piece of fruit. On arriving at the register I realised I did not have enough change in my purse to continue with the purchase. The eftpos minimum was $5 and I didn't have time to choose additional items. The middle-aged man at the counter told me rudely to put the fruit back. I initially thought I had misheard him and thanked him for putting the fruit back for me and he said something obviously insulting to me in another language. I asked him what he said and he told me he was talking to himself. I then saw him storm off to put the fruit back, only to return to his place behind the counter to continue looking at his phone. The store was otherwise empty. I was really disappointed at this behaviour and won't be returning. I have spent quite a lot of money at the business over the years and as much as I want to support local business, there needs to be a basic level of customer service and common decency.

My local. Great produce, wonderfully helpful staff, love seeing all the different products they bring in. It breaks my heart a little every time I go there after they’ve closed and have to get things from Woolies instead, it just isn’t the same. 10/10 from me.

Produce is often old of poor quality, and one must search at the back of shelves for fresher produce. I recently purchased bread, only to return home and find it was mouldy and past its used-by date.I suggest you about-turn and purchase from the large grocery store opposite. At least the stock is rotated frequently.

I've been coming to this store for the last year and I can honestly say they have some of the best salads I've ever tasted in my life. Keep your eye out for their end of day specials you can pick up 2 for $5, they seem pretty healthy and it's a great option for the time poor who don't want to fill up on takeaway. Cheers, Seth
