Corio Bay Motel

Looked at the photos, saw that they seemed ok. Went into the room, and straight away the smell hits you in the face hurting your throat. We walk in and the coffee was wet and moldy, you started getting itchy after a few seconds inside it, beds were horrible, the carpets had stains, the shower curtain was moldy, the floor of the shower was modly as well and the tiles were missing, the roof was moldy, the old bedding from other people was on the table. This place was absolutely disgusting, vile every horrible word under the sun. Absolutely disappointing.

Poor light, dirty, broken cupboards. No sink to wash hands post toilet in bathroom. Had to share sink. Too dirty to use bathroom to shower. Vomit stains on bed linen.( Do not eat in room). Location is great for ferry to Tasmania it is a pity the government doesn't invest in local motels more

Had my doubts prior to arriving due to some reviews but found room acceptable. Some renovations already done. Budget room upstairs. Adequate and clean. Friendly welcome. Reported no remote for TV but hasn't been supplied. We're old school and can operate TV manually. At $95 I'm not complaining. Thankyou.PS hair dryer, micro included.

Clean, tidy and well appointed. If you are a day tripper on the Spirit of Tasmania and need somewhere to lay your head before you continue your journey, you can't beat this extremely affordable place. However, if you expect your accommodation to be a new build with new fixtures and fittings, this is not the place for you. You won't get that at these prices.

After reading some reviews I was worried when I had already paid and booked with no other options. But was very pleased with the room I got, top floor, was noisy but to be expected on a main highway. Was clean, no mould, had kettle,toaster, microwave and fridge. Everything you need this room had, is small but for two people and the price it's amazing.

I think the reviews for this place are a bit unfair. Look at my photos before reading any other reviews.This is a price friendly motel that is very clear about what it is and what it isn’t. For us it is actually better than we expected because of all the hyped up 1 star reviews. Seriously, what do you expect for your $140ish dollars a night?It has been upgraded so those saying it is a dive are being unfair. We are here for the Airshow and the linen is clean and modern ish - if that matters to you. The bathrooms are as basic as the hotel promises you but you have everything a cost effective hotel promises 12 minutes from Avalon Airport. Again look at the pictures to prove this.* New AC* Modernish Linens* Clean fridge and Microwave* cookies and warm drinks mixes* clean shower with a tricked out LED shower head!* newish clean carpetsNow does it have faults - yes. But they are pretty minor. Like our room wasn’t made up today - for me I don’t care but most expect this. They did change out our towels. Again, it’s $140 a night should I expect a them to pay someone $40 to clean my room each day? I haven’t looked to say they offer this but I know the Rydges in Geelong will give you a $10 account credit if you don’t have your room made up and that’s a $500 + a night hotel over the Airshow 15 more minutes away from Avalon Airport.Am I going to travel here with my partner who expects a certain level or my elderly Mom. No, but if you are a bit chill and reasonable in what you should expect in a cost effective motel (not Hotel folks) than this place is a totally legit accommodation provider.Google reviews are hard sometimes. I would give it a 5 for being better than I expected for what we paid. But my 4 star more reflects that it’s not perfect but it lives up to its promise.Give this place a go if you need a cost effective stay - operators seem nice and doing what appears to be the best they can for the service they are offering.

Bed was clean. Very compact room which wasn't a worry but lighting was poor in both bedroom and bathroom. Black mold very noticeable on shower curtain too dark to so didn't get a shower.The room was worn out cupboard rotting at base carpet was iffy because of lighting and the brown colour couldn't tell if it was dirty or just worn . The steps leading upstairs had most growing so was very wary considering it was wet from rain these also were in poor condition missing paint off steps and rails .

DONT STAY HERE. My room was disgusting. Paint peeled off. Old aircon still in wall. Door hard to close. Tap in basin not attached. Carpet filthy. Mattress old. No soap.

Cheap and Clean needs painted and new furniture looks like it's had water damage (rotten chipboard) and bottom of the front door. Parking needs made clear for upstairs and downstairs guests. Very small more suited to $50 backpacker accommodation.

The room was so bad I didn't even stay the night. Everything was dirty. The light switch, door, walls, scratched paint, filthy fraying carpet, and the linoleum had black footprints visible. The windows wouldn't seal shut so there was always a breeze yet the room smelled funny. No fly screens or security screens on the windows and no way to lock the windows. Anyone from outside could open them. The mattress was uncomfortable to even sit on, I didn't make it so far as to check whether the sheets were clean as I felt so incredibly unsafe I immediately left.
