Sherbrooke Picnic Ground

Parts of the park are still closed off at the time of writing this (Sept '21) due to clearance of the major storm damage still underway. There are areas open though and some very easy walks through the pretty woodland are possible.

Awe walking but note the path to the Sherbrooke waterfall is closed due large forest trees.You walk along the other trails and feel very close to nature

A few picnic tables located right next to the carpark. Good place to have a meal with some friends and enjoy the atmosphere. Or even to spend relaxing alone time . There is a drinking tap and toilets too. The walking trail is a few metres away.

Very small falls, you will see a trickle over one small rock BUT: great place for a calm hike.7.5km, about 2 hours round circuit at a calm pace with no kids.You can go left (Clockwise) at the falls down a muddy Fern covered downhill trail if you are feeling adventurous (but bring boot cleaning implements) or go right (Anti) down a good wide track if you want to stay clean.Left track reaches a little bridge after you go right at the fork then is all uphill back around to the falls with one section alongside the road after you exit through the bottom gate, just re-enter through the gate you will see at what looks like a makeshift roadside parking area.Right track just does the opposite so stop at the gate, turn around and go back up to the falls for a short hike or continue on to see more trees (re-enter through the bottom gate and tackle the muddy uphill climb (not recommended, you will arrive back at your car with more mud than if you go clockwise)

Great picnic ground but we cannot do portable gas or charcoal BBQ. We ended up going somewhere else. I think no fire is allowed in the Dandenong areas. I hope this message helps other people to plan ahead.

Beautiful walk in nature, can be a bit bumpy with young kids but it depends how adventurous they are my little one who’s 3 year old loved it , we climbed up the trees and hiked all the way . Weather was a bit hot but overall a great family hike

Beautiful area to explore with easy trails. Don't expect a massive waterfall.

Common beginning point to do the Sherbrooke Track. Mostly flat and peaceful, and a 1km section of very high slope at Moore Break

Great forest walk from Sherbrooke picnic grounds in Victoria Melbourne. A little muddy from rain but moderate level walk. A chance to enjoy a great walk. Recommend decent shoes but bring a change of it was wet overnight. Shady under the trees but still warm so bring some water and a jacket in case it cools.
