Extremely prompt, clear and detailed information was provided about residential rates and plans for area development.

This shire does not consult with the ratepayers and wastes a lot of our money on useless things. Also, they don't tell the truth to ratepayers - it's like the old boys club where everything is done behind closed doors. If you think they care about us, you are seriously mistaken!!!!!

The Mundaring Shire Council has had its good points and its bad. It is a great place to live and visit. The Council has managed to preserve the Perth Hills atmosphere and so far prevent destructive development. It may seem minor but as a resident one of the things that makes me feel bad about the Council every week is the stupid decision to provide residents with tiny wheelie bins for rubbish. The intention was to force us to use the recycle bin, the effect is that many peoples bins overflow as there is insufficient room and the contents are filled with maggots.

I want to know why the shire of Mundaring has declared end of Swan Valley Road restricted entry national park for dogs. But right next to a conservation area around L363 they are just chopping olive trees instead of digging them out or poisoning or asking owners to remove these pests from verge?

Shire are absolutely terribly to deal with. They make everything overly complicated and difficult, and if you live here prepare to pay very high rates for hardly any amenities. And they thought Ned Kelly robbed people......

We only need our small green bin to be emptied every two months or so - and even then it is not full. I can actually see that we can even do away with it for most of the year. But at the moment we would love to have weekly removal of our yellow lidded bin as this overflows much quicker. Food waste go in the garden, soft plastic (when we purchase it - which we try not to do) to the recycling facility at Coles Mundaring and the rest is recyclable. The hardest is changing habits, but benefits include eating better.

a bit clunky but they seem like adequately reasonable people.

Wow, I was really impressed. It's been twice already that I got a building approval (additional bathroom + shed) in less than a week. Being originally from Germany and knowing the turn around time of public offices there, I can only say: respect. excellent service. Keep it up please. And thanks.
