Seaside Takeaway Hervey Bay

Ordered a 3 cod pack with chips and a couple of hands of calamari thinking that it would feed 2 adults and 3 hungry kids for under $50.We have eaten and are stuffed and still have enough for another meal left over. The calamari 'hand' was the biggest one I've ever seen with about 10 massive 'fingers' and the chips, they almost deserve their own post. Delicious, crunchy, battered chips with addictive seasoning. It's really unfortunate that other chips are now ruined for me, I will compare them and they will fall short. Great value for amazing food.

Sadly had the worst meal tonight, went to the Seaside takeaway. My friend and I walked in around 4:30pm there was no one in the store except one person in front. We both ordered and waited, my friends meal came out after 20 minutes. Thinking mine was next, as I ordered 3 minutes after. Still waiting, after half an hour and 6 orders after mine had been done I asked if my order was almost ready. The girl informed me it was just coming up. A few more orders came out for other people and mine was still not called. Walked in again and asked again about my order, the girl apologised and told me that they have been busy, my response was no sorry, my order was your third for the evening when you had only two orders prior. When my order was finally ready,after over 45 minutes of waiting they missed some of the order . Then they gave me the wrong size ( smaller) and had to inform them that I ordered the larger size. Once I took my order back to the park, I opened my burger to find it completely burnt to a crisp! Now very obviously more upset, I went back into the shop burger in hand . I asked to see that manager, after waiting around 10 minutes and him ignoring me wanting to speak to him. I asked the girl again to speak with him, to be told he is too busy to speak to me. I told the girl it was extremely disrespectful and If I could be refunded, the girl then refunded the burger only. I must say , the two young girls who dealt with myself, remained calm and courteous. I have never been so disgusted in a place, I am also in the same industry and work within kitchens and never have seen such poor management. To add the rest of mine and my friends meals were well over cooked and poorly presented. They also ran out of napkins and cutlery, and whilst I was standing there , there were a few other people's orders with missing items.

Worst hospitality experience I’ve ever had!Tonight I went in to get dinner and seen they sold spring rolls, I asked the counter staff if it was meat free and they confirmed with a cook that they ‘thought’ it was, I then said I would only purchase one if it definitely didn’t have meat and they went and checked and said it doesn’t. After getting home and having a bite I realised it was filled with meat! I returned to the shop to ask for a full refund and they argued with me and tried to negotiate a price lesser than what I paid! I didn’t receive any apology. And they said that I’d have to return a 3rd time with the other food I purchased to get a refund! As I entered the shop a third time I was greeted with “here we go”. I can’t believe with my patience and calmness I was treated so poorly. What an absolute nightmare!

I'm visiting my family here in Hervey Bay from London and we had cod and chips from Seaside today for lunch and the food was excellent. Quality of the fish was wonderful. The team serving and cooking were brilliant. The facilities and kitchen were exceptionally clean. And they were very generous portions. All round 5 stars!Additional caveat ... I'm extremely fussy about fish and this was excellent. Thank you!

Excellent quality and quantity. Seafood basket for two had more than we could eat and was priced very reasonably. Recommended

Food is always delicious, freshly cooked. Staff are friendly - highly recommend visiting for a great feed

Great fish and chips! Wanted to find somewhere other than the always crowded place up the road and tried here. Not disappointed! Not as busy so we where served quickly by friendly staff and didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Absolutely delicious, I’ll be back.

We got dinner here tonight. Both had Barra and chips. Mine was battered, my partners was grilled. The batter was nicely done, not to thick and cooked well. The Barra (both grilled and battered) was tasty and also cooked nicely. There were three pieces of fish in each which is very good value. Both meals were cooked to order and still hot when we got home 15 mins later. The only thing they could improve is the chips. I am super fussy with chips!!! Mine were okay with a few burnt ones, but my partners were very over done. As this is still a new business they are likely focusing on the fish and will get better in time. Maybe a better quality chip would be easier to cook well???? Just a guess.Edit...went again last night and had coral trout. The chips were still bad. The fish was lovely. Once again, we had both battered and grilled, and it was good. It's such a shame that the chips are not nice. I ordered a couple of potato scallops too. One was nice, but the other was dry and inedible. I'm not likely to try again for a while.

This place used to be one of the best in the bay but has gone way down hill recently. Now has bad food & bad service. Avoid at all costs.

Ordered two portions of the snapper (a locally caught fish) and chips for $15 each. The portion of fish was very small and low quality, it tasted like mush and was poorly cooked. The chips were crispy and we received a good serving but they had no chicken salt (which we asked for) and were only luke warm.
