Australian Skin Cancer Clinics - Mermaid Waters

I’m currently being treated by Dr Justin Kelly at the clinic.He is a total professional and really explains things well and leaves no stone unturned.I recently attended my six monthly skin check and some biopsies were taken for pathology.The test results came back with one of the biopsies revealing a stage four Melanoma.I was contacted immediately by the clinic and scheduled for an appointment to discuss the results.Doctor Justin explained everything to me in a very professional manner and made me feel very comfortable and confident moving forward.I have now been referred to the John Flynn Private Hospital cancer unit for further evaluation and treatment by Dr Nic Crampton.I can not speak highly enough of Dr Justin Kelly he is a dedicated highly skilled professional doctor.I’d also like to make some comments on the reception staff.They were really helpful shuffling appointments to fit me in at short notice.Overall I feel completely happy that I’m being looked after by a professional team at Mermaid Waters Skin Cancer Clinic.

Dr. Brian Carroll was thorough and kind. He exuded professionalism and was informative in what we should look out for. The receptionist was also quite lovely. A really good experience for something not so comfortable to do. Thanks guys!

Dr Chan was really friendly and professional and took his time to not only check but also explain.

Dr Gary Whitaker was fabulous treating and removing a bcc from my face. His detailed description of what he would do allowed me to be very settled during its removal. I shared my concern with it being right on the front of my lip area and that I loved wearing lipstick snd wanted it as discrete as possible. He even removed and redid one of the stitches during initial removal, as he said he wasn’t happy with how that stitch looked. I’ve just had stitches removed today. Wow, great job Gary. I’ve already recommended to people to him. Gary's attention to detail really stood out.

Extremely professional, informative and thorough. Made me feel really comfortable with my first skin check.

My second annual skin check with Dr Brian Carroll. Perfect and Dr Carroll is extremely polite and shares his knowledge. Again left the surgery feeling relieved and thankful.

I had a spot on my cheek, I told the doctor I don’t like the looks of a spot and wanted it removed. He said no, just keep an eye on it. Didn’t book a 3, 6 or 12 month re visit. I saw my GP 8 months later, she says “I don’t like the look of that”. She refers me to a specialist she recommends. He sees it, books to take it out the next day, 15 stitches from the lower eye lid down the cheek. They test it. It’s Melanoma. He refers me to a plastic surgeon as they now need to go back in to take more clearance. I called the manager at the clinic to let them know how slack their systems were. They never called me back when they said they would. Been speaking to other people and now have heard many issues with this skin clinic. Melanoma can be vary aggressive. Not good enough to Mermaid Waters skin clinic. Shame on you.

I have really bad skin cancer on my nose and asked to be bulk billed for them to tell me they only except Centrelink people.i pay my taxes like everyone else how do you think Centrelink people get there money through us not happy
