Golden Grove Recreation & Arts Centre

We went to the theatre side of it for our kid's dance recital. It was a lovely professional style theatre, especially for one attached to a rec centre. Of course, the performance was wonderful, too.

If you’re looking for a social basketball competition with competent refereeing, this is not the place for you!Unfortunately, time and time again this rec centre have proven they are incapable of providing refereeing that maintains control and safety over what happens on the court.

I have played social basketball in about 6+ leagues and this one is by far the worst. No care for player safety nor calling fouls when there are some.Someone attempted to trip me but the ruling was I didn't fall over so play on". Even after consulting the manager there was little regard for our safety and protecting the players.Refs are lazy and dont get up the court

Claim have open hours but you can’t use their facilities what a joke

Play social basketball there every Thursday night for the last five+ years.Easy going environment and welcoming.Umpires are usually consistent, don't take the game too serious and always remember that it's social basketball.Would recommend this facility for social basketball over the nearby Ingle Farm Recreation Centre which I have previously played at on Monday nights

Was ok but didn't start until 2.20pm. We had an appointment at 3.15pm and had to leave early. We had booked thinking we could go seeing it was advertised starting at 2 and ending at 3. I realise the rememberence service was nice to have but that should have been planned well before to start before 2. As it was that didn't even start at 2. Very disappointed we could not see the whole performanceRegardsBrian and Pauline Townsend

If i could give 0 stars i would!RUDE STAFF. i played mixed netball for 2 seasons and the older lady at the front desk is very rude! our team isnt coming back due to the rude staff that never own up to there mistakes. i have heard lots of people not going there because of the rude staff. we got a text on a thursday regarding our game time on the following monday (8:45pm) get there at 8:30pm for then to say you know your game isnt till 9:30" we had to wait because of there mistake. didnt get a sorry or anything. both teams were made to wait making the rec center go against covid rules having us all in there."

Great Sports complex, the theatre is a fantastic facility, specially for the surrounding schools who are able to show case there theatrical skills and talent. The kiosk has a wide variety and has a clean and hygienic look to it. Has air-conditioning and a large seating area.

This recreational centre has giving me a not so great impression as to friendly staff as in referees to welcoming current or new faces to the courts as new teams members. They also do not referee fairly according to their rules of the courts, codes of conduct: they have new teams enter the centre as well as the current ones although the referees are suppose to be objective they do not call a fair game to either teams!!Also adding to the condition to having a provided centre is the electrical equipment is not always working for staff or public member to have a full functional placefurthermore referring back to the referees , I have had a few experiences at both at this centre and Turramurra recreational centre where the referee has walked out of the arena/ left to go do something else, which to the codes that 2 referees are to be on a court at a time.
