Discovery Parks - Port Hedland

Stayed on a powered caravan site. The sites are concrete pads with room for you tow vehicle beside. The streets are quite tight and the sites are at an angle which makes it a little bit easier to get into and out. In a quiet area of Port Headland. All facilities are well maintained.

Great friendly and welcoming service by the staff on check in and check out. Our site was easy to get onto and had a beautiful view of the pretty pool creek and lights of the town at night. The park was tidy and amenities were wonderfully clean. Thank you

Great park with great amenities.. It's a shame the shower block is sooo warm and muggy. Always come back here it's a great spot!

All in all a pretty great park to stay at. Staff were very helpful for the most part, some of the maintenance staff in particular going above and beyond to help you out. Really has a great community of people staying and working there.The camp kitchen facilities are also quite good, a fridge/freezer, several bbq's, microwave, toaster, sandwich press and kettle. Definitely up there with the better camps I've stayed in over the past 3 months on the road.Only downsides being the lack of a shade sail over the pool, apparently this was damaged over a year ago and has not been replaced. You would think this would be a priority as the temperatures tend to reach 40+ degrees most days during the summer months which turns the pool into a bath. Maybe they will have in fixed in time for next winter when it's not really required...Also the activities room is not open to guests of the park. I was informed by previous staff and long term residents of the park that this has been the case for a long time. Though it is still listed as a park feature on the website. When I asked at reception about using the room to do some work on my computer out of the heat I was told it was being renovated and temporarily closed. However no work had begun in the 6 weeks I stayed at the park. Others told me this reason had been used for over a year. Bit of a shame as an indoor activity area would be a very appreciated feature in such a hot part of Australia, especially for those camping in tents and small vans who don't have anywhere to escape the heat. Really not sure why they wouldn't want to keep it open for guests for as long as possible before renovations are started, certainly no sign of them happening any time soon...Anyway as stated all in all quite a nice camp, would definitely stay again. Just wish that activity room was open!

My husband and I stayed in a cabin overnight. It was small but comfortable. The air conditioner and the overhead fan were filthy. A barking dog (Blue Healer I think) was close by which was annoying.

When you take the time to state the exact size of your caravan and you get put on a site where it truly des not fit. The two spare wheels had to be positioned either side of a pole at the rear of the caravan.IMG_2720

Nice park with clean facilities, very kind and helpful staff and a beautiful location right on the beach. Definitely your best choice when visiting Port Hedland!

Great park , I'm a pilot and I can always get a site. Amenities are clean and shower are great . Laundry clean tidy .Staff super helpful, friendly.
