The Crux

Smallish gym, a lot of overhang, some slab, their spray wall is nice, not sure how often it gets changed but no moons/kilters or any standardised wall. I think their routesetting is good at all levels, even the easier levels help show beginners body positioning and there are some creative moves.Staff are lovely and friendly and it seems like a very safe and inclusive gym which you don't see to the level that they are at.Hand washing area is quite nice.Not much space in the weights and hangboard training area is maybe the only issue, but that's just on the space restrictions.

A real gem.If you're looking for a bouldering gym that has a relaxed atmosphere, positive vibes, great routes and friendly staff then you should check this place out.There's a warm up area with various weights and finger boards to help get you ready for the stunning climbs that are set with grades ranging from beginner friendly to pretty darn hard, yet not feel unfair.This place is dog friendly and is always a bonus when you see a lovely dog just chilling as you walk in.Good place to bring your friends to get them interested in climbing as the place isn't crazy busy and the climbers are both friendly and patient.You can buy coffee to help you get through the hard climbs, and there is water available in case you forget your bottle (which you can refill as well)Overall a good place to go if you're looking to climb

Very nice Bouldering gym, looks very clean and well organised. Staff super friendly. Prices very reasonable, climbs, although it's a small gym, were very well designed and a good challenge too. I'd come here twice a week and still not have all the climbs finished (they introduce new climbs every Wednesday). Would love to see this business flourish and grow to accommodate even more walls! Happy that it's local

Been going to Crux weekly for the last month and a half, and loving it! Just got myself a membership which is a pretty sweet deal. Good for beginners like myself, and everyone's nice and helpful so the solo trip's are always fun regardless.

Nice little climbing gym in Coburg. Good and challenging climbs. Good coffee. Good facilities. Recommended.

Honestly my experience with the crux has been getting worse and worse as a regular customer. Now they charge a $5 fee to even put my account on hold, when this was not the case on the previous structure, nor was I told this would be introduced.Not the first time I’ve had problems with this new structure but this is the last straw before I made this review. Really not a happy customer as of recent , some of the newer staffing is cold and unwelcoming and the problems seem to be endless with their new system. I really hope some changes are made for customer experience with you guys.Edit- as a membership that offers no sign up fees and non locked in contracts, a hold fee is a bit of a joke

Nice small gym, good vibe. I'm an intermediate climber and found there's a good range of routes, lots I could climb and some nice challenges. I normally go to a different gym but would definitely come back.

Very impressed. The newest bouldering gym in Melbourne is packed with surprises. Plenty of routes to try from for every level. The holds are different so those looking for technical styles will be pleased. Staff is incredibly friendly and happy to assist with your project. They've got coffee, hammocks, great music and doggos welcome! I can see a great community in the making!

Nice and inclusive atmosphere, the staff were really friendly!However, the setting could be improved. Unintuitive movement in the harder grades. It felt like the moves just got bigger, rather than more body engagement etc.
