This was such a great tour, I learned so much about Canberra's history and many interesting, quirky facts about the nation's capital (Queanbeyan coffins and submerged suburbs at the bottom of Lake Burley Griffin!?).Our tour guide Sita is such a fantastic storyteller and this is what really made the tour for me, she really brought Canberra's history to life.I was one of only two gentlemen on the tour, but it is definitely good for blokes to attend. You will get a lot out of this - I would describe it as a history of Canberra seen through a female lens.Definitely recommend going on this tour, and I will be recommending it to all my friends :).

The wealth of information that Sita carries and the generosity with which she shares it with everyone is commendable! As an outsider in Canberra I find it pretty daunting to join local groups or involve in any local activities but Sita has such a contagious compassionate energy that I could see everyone resonate with, making the group such a safe environment for learning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, really appreciate all the work you've put into making this, Sita! Can't wait to go the Spies in the Capital tour next month!

Alison and Lucy gave us a great tour around the parliamentary area with fascinating stories about women who were important but commonly unacknowledged. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic tour! It was so lovely to experience a unique perspective of Australian history from an enthusiastic and well informed tour guide! As a Canadian with limited knowledge of Australian history, this experience provided me with an excellent and interesting glimpse into the important role women have played in shaping the Australian landscape.I would recommend a tour by She Shapes History to those who are new to Australia and interested in learning more about its rich and diverse history.

A must do in Canberra! Sita and Ripley are so engaging, passionate and knowledgeable. The tour opens your eyes to some of Australia's untold stories and shines a light on some of Australia's remarkable women. As a woman I left feeling empowered and proud (if not somewhat frustrated as well) by the rich history of the women before us. It was not a difficult walk and a was a great way to see and get to know the Parliamentary triangle and buildings too.
