I was from out of town visiting for a holiday, I had an emergency situation (fuel leak) that required repairs straight away.Even though Gav Fines was fully booked out they got me late one morning and had the issue fixed by that afternoon.Very professional and friendly staff. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.Would definitely recommend.

This is one of the most unhelpful useless mechanics I ever interacted with in recent years. Not recommended to anyone to go in case of emergency. We had an alternator issue over the Easter weekend precisely on Easter Monday and as one can imagine everyone in Jindy was closed. I was lucky that I noticed that the battery was not being recharged and hence I tried to drive towards Jindy from Dalgety. The car stopped around 6 kms away from Jindy and hence I had to call services. The guy with the tow truck did some testing and told me that the problem was alternator and then he asked me to which mechanic to take me. I asked him to take me to Gav and hope that he will be able to fix it the next day. I knew that it was not a big deal and if I will be there in the morning he can order the part he will hopefully be able to fix it in the afternoon as its only maximum 1 - 1.5 hr job. It was raining heavily and so I chose Gav as its in the middle of town and I can then try to find accommodation for the night together with my family. So we were towed to Gav's place for the night. Unfortunately I didn't manage to find any locations to stay as everywhere was fully booked so we had to sleep in the car. Next morning by 8 am I was at the garage and explained the situation to Gav but he didn't even bothered to have a one minute look (like the tow truck guy did) at my car. I explained to him that its important to us as we could't find accommodation where to stay and obviously we cannot go anywhere by car. He didn't even bother or consider to look at the car and he told me that he only can look at the week after. So then I tried to rent a car but again none was available. When I asked him when its the earliest he can do it for me he told me May 3rd....yes next Friday. So obviously he showed me that he didn't want to work on it at all. So I had to get the towing again to take us to another mechanic 2.5 km up the road for which I was charged $160. I can only explain Gav's inhumane approach based solely on some kind of prejudice. NOT RECOMMENDED

Gav was great to deal with. They squeezed my rego inspection in last minute and we’re able to then also squeeze in the fixes that were needed. Great team and really appreciate their help.

Really appreciate Gav and Mel helping us out at short notice. Had an issue with our old Ranger and even though they were fully booked Gav sorted the issue and got us back on the road.Thanks againMatt

Came into town late Friday afternoon and Gavin knocked out a quick fix on the brake lights in less than 18hrs to keep us on the road. Honest, efficient and great value!

20 years of servicing my Toyota by a dealership it never felt like it..except in the hip pocket until the day I used Gav Fines Auto.Yes I still get a bill..BUT i also get a car that drives like its been serviced!Thanks Gav & Mel

Couldn’t thank enough Gav and the receptionist! They were great to us. We went to 3 different mechanics, all of them didn’t even have a quick look on the car to see if the problem was something simple to fix or not.Gav, even busy, helped us and fixed the problem with the coolant in a few minutes! He saved our trip!

most unhelpful mechanic I have ever met, found out was best known locally as 'Next week Gav'. even with a half empty workshop, wouldn't even look at my car.I went to another local guy Kosiosco Auto , WOW No delay, checked immediately, sent me off skiing while he did repairs inc ordered in parts for same day, then car ready on way back from slopes, for the work I thought his charge was lower than he could have charged.Best advice don't go to Gav, don't waste your time dealing with the arrogant sod even if he is a bit closer to town centre.Kosiosco Auto are pleasant helpful and reasonable in price.
